Wilbur fired a light backhanded slap, not enough to hurt Tommy but enough to deliver the message of, "Shut the fuck up." while plastering a forced smile onto his face and beaming at Alex.

The male in question stood behind the counter, glaring at Wilbur with an amused look on his stupid cute face. Wilbur sighed.

"Well, here goes nothing,"

He marched forward, feeling like he was stepping out onto a battlefield. But, instead, he was just asking a random guy at a coffee shop out who didn't even like him, much less friends with him,

His heart seemed to beat in his ears, a million thoughts ran through his head at once. 'Fuck, what if he's straight? What if he's weirded out by me? Shit, shit, shit, it wasn't this hard when I was mindlessly flirting.'

Wilbur was terrified. He wanted to turn around, but the adrenaline of the moment (and the fact Tommy would never let him live it down, of course) kept him walking.

The small trek from the door to the counter felt longer than ever. As he finally reached the counter, Alex stood there, the same amused smile fixated to his face. Wilbur took a deep breath, feeling the blood rush to his cheeks.

"Hey, Alex, I think we got off on the wrong foot," Wilbur said in a confident tone that did not match his emotions. The smirk dropped from Alex's face in seconds and he raised his eyebrows, which caused Wilbur's stomach to tie into a knot. 'fuck fuck fuck, yep he's definitely saying no.' He internally cursed himself.

"Oh?" Alex cocked his head to the side.

As Wilbur frantically tried to silently calm himself down, Tommy stood on the tips of his toes, using his arms to pull him up enough he could peer over the counter to get a better look at Alex.

Wilbur took a deep breath and nervously stuck out his hand to shake Alex's, "I'm Wilbur Minecraft," The smile grew back on Alex's face as he took Wilbur's hand. "Alex. Alex Quackity."

'Okay! Okay! This is going well!' Wilbur silently celebrated. Now for the hard part, Wilbur took a deep breath.

His cheeks grew redder as he returned his hand to his side, 'Just go for it, already!'

"Well, Alex Quackity, will you go on a date with me?"

As Alex felt his cheeks grow red and his muscles tense up, he knew he wasn't giving the impression that he wanted to, but in his defense he had never been asked on a date before. He tried to keep as straight of a face as possible, he didn't want to come off as if he were horrified by the suggestion he was gay.

He watched with a stone-cold expression as Wilbur slowly became more and more visibly panicked by Alex's silence.

Alex didn't know what to say, he was at a complete loss for words. He didn't want to come off desperate, he wanted to say yes but for some reason that one word seemed to become the most difficult thing to say.

Wilbur tensed up and quickly turned his head to the side, clear panic and humiliation painted on his freckled face. "I'm sorry that was stupid, just forget I said anything, " he shut his eyes tightly and cringed in embarrassment.

The blonde boy that had been staring at Alex as if he was God on earth slowly turned his head to Wilbur, looking as if he were about to smack the living shit out of him.

Wilbur turned to the door and grabbed the boy's wrist, gently but firmly, "Come on Tommy let's-"

"Yes."

Wilbur spun around in seconds, his eyes wide with shock.

"Yes, Wilbur, I would love to go on a date with you," Alex said. His stone-cold gaze had melted into a warm smile. He relaxed his muscles as he leaned against the counter.

Wilbur's shocked expression turned into pure glee and he smiled brightly. "So I pick you up at..."

Wilbur was cut off by Alex practically climbing over the counter and grabbing Wilbur's wrist. He pulled Wilbur over so that the brunette was up against the counter and grabbed a pen from the cup full of them off to the side.

Alex wrote a number on Wilbur's wrist, "There," he said, "That's my number, I'll text you my address, pick me up at five, " Alex spoke in a way that made it clear that it wasn't a suggestion but an order.

Wilbur just stood there in silence with a rather puzzled expression, as if he were trying to figure how to respond to that.

Alex didn't give him a chance to talk. He simply shot Wilbur one last determined grin and turned around. Walking back into the kitchen he threw up his hand and with his back still facing Wilbur he loudly announced, "Be there!" before he disappeared around the corner.

Wilbur stood there dumbfounded for a moment before yet another smile grew on his face and he whispered under his breath, "I'll be there."
