"Seriously though, love is just messed up." You said while slurping on your juice.

"How so? And, have you even fallen in love before?" Jungeun, your childhood best friend argued.

"No, but I watch movies and love stories and even read the damn Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare while using my dictionary to find the words i didn't understand in that book, so I just know!..” You paused dramatically. “That love.. is messed up." You explained as Jungeun laughed.

"Hey, (Y/n)?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm gonna play a song, listen to the lyrics carefully and pretend that it's me, talking to you, okay?"

"Oh, okay!"

Jungeun then started playing the song "Waste it on me" by Steve Aoki and BTS.

You listened to the lyrics carefully as soon as they sang.

The lyrics made you tilt your head in confusion, yet you understand what Jungeun was trying to say, at the same time.

You looked at Jungeun innocently. She gave you a soft smile and motioned for you to just keep on listening to the song.

Jungeun then turned it off on the second verse.

"Do you get it?"

"Maybe? I don't know.." But you did get it. You were just pretending not to.

"I like you, (Y/n).” She paused.

You looked at her, making sure she knows you're listening.

“Actually.. I love you.” She continued.

“Not just as a friend anymore. But as a girl. As yourself. I love your smile, I love your humor, I love the way you care for people, I love how you always nag me like my mom does, and... Your eyes. I love your eyes. They make me feel so safe every time I look into them.”

Jungeun explained, holding both of your hands and caressing them.

You both stayed quiet for a while before you smiled softly at her and held her hands back.

"I love you, too, Jungeun." you chuckled.

"Even though I hate you for saying that I nag you like your mom, I love you.” You both chuckled, still holding on to each other's hands, with Jungeun caressing yours.

“I may say that love is messed up, I couldn't control my feelings, I couldn't stop myself from liking you. You've always been there to take care of me and even my mom, from when she was sick, up to her last days. You were always there. I see you as a friend, and someone I just genuinely adore." You explained.

Jungeun smiled at you and helped you stand up to hug you. She pulled by your waist to hug you, as you hugged back with your arms around her neck.

You guys stayed in the hug for about 5 seconds. You were about to let go but Jungeun hugged you tighter to stop you from doing so. As soon as she did, you felt all of the current weight you were carrying on your shoulders, faded in a bliss.

Jungeun let go after 5 more and you felt as if that hug was the best 10 seconds of your life.

"Hey, (Y/n)?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I... court you?"

You smiled softly at her and let out a, "Yes, Jungie."

"Really??"

"Yess!" You said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Jungeun squealed and lifted you up as you laughed and screamed for your life. She put you down as you smiled at each other.
