"YOU GUYS ARE OFFICIAL!" Jasmine yelled.
"Yes!" Brianna and Terry laughed.
"Oh. My. God. And you're only telling me now?"
"Jazzy, it has been two minutes and you're the first person to know."
"Okay, okay, but ah! I'm so happy for you both. I knew that Terrana would happen some day."
"Terrana?" Terrence frowned.
"Your ship name, we planned it a long time ago. Before Rowland and Brianna dated but I preferred Terrana over Rowanna anyways. Anyways, how did it all happen? I need the details, come on!"
"Well..."
The sun shone brightly and the sky was clear blue - not a single cloud was in the distance - with the calming sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Brianna and Terry were walking bare feet in the sand, hand in hand.
"Tell me about yourself," Terry smiled.
"You really like my horrific friendship and love stories, don't you?" Brianna laughed.
"I know that talking about painful events can make them hurt less but I do enjoy hearing about your life. You fascinate me."
"Well, I dated Callum, the popular guy at my school, for almost five months until I discovered that my best friend Melanie and he actually had a thing going on. History really did repeat itself."
"I think that Rowland loved you and I know that I cannot speak for him but he genuinely regrets what he has done."
"I know and I think that Callum had some type of feeling for me even though I doubt that they were as strong as what happened between Rowland and me, which actually says a lot because Rowland and I only dated for two weeks. Can you believe we only have a week left?"
"No, I wish we had more time."
"Things don't have to end."
She stopped walking and turned to face him. Her brown eyes stared at his tan skin and she smiled. She looked away and when she glanced back, she felt his hand grab her other hand.
Suddenly, he lifted their linked hands above her head and made her twirl. She placed her hands on her shoulders as he held her waist, they danced to the rhythm of the waves.
"Thank you for making each day better than the one before," he whispered.
"Thank you for being the most incredible person that I've ever met," she murmured back.
As she looked at his lips, she saw him looking at her and with no hesitation, she locked the space between them. The kiss was soft and gentle and the setting was perfect. This moment - with nobody around watching or cheering and a kiss with spontaneity - was what she had envisioned for her first kiss.
Her hand was in Terrence's brown hair as he sweetly held her waist. The sound of birds above them reminded her of some Disney tale that her mother would read to her as a child. The memory of her parents and how she had been separated from them for four weeks surprised her.
Why was she thinking of her parents?
She slowly pulled away and a smile was plastered on both of their faces. Brianna noticed that Terry's cheeks were a little more red than usual and she could feel her own cheeks being warm as well. He grabbed her hand and they continued walking.
"What does it mean?" she asked, breaking the silence.
"Whatever you want," he kindly replied.
"So, are you my boyfriend?"
"If that's what you want and you're ready for it then yes."
"Thank you for being so understanding, Terry."
"Of course, I love you."
"I love you more."
"Are we really going down the "who loves the other more" path?"
"Um - probably better not to."
"That's what I thought."
Suddenly, he grabbed her by the waist and dropped her on the sand where he began tickling her. She let out a small shriek of surprise before trying to fight back by blindly kicking him but his arm that was holding her against the sand was firm and she had no chance.
In a moment of inattention, she managed to pull his hand away but by doing so, he lost balance and fell on her. He began to laugh, standing up and held out his hand for her to grab. When she had maintained her balance, he dropped a quick kiss on her forehead before wrapping his arm around her waist.
"Oh my God, this is the most adorable moment ever!" Jasmine clapped. "You guys are the reason I believe in love."
"Thanks, Jazzy! Terry, could I talk to you for a second?" Brianna grabbed his hand.
"Of course," he replied.
As they headed out of the room, Brianna felt her body tense with fear. The overthinking began and she started considering the worst case scenarios as she thought over what she would tell him.
"Hey, it's okay. You can tell me anything," he reassured her.
"Thanks, Terry," she replied. "Where do I begin? I saw Rowland and -"
"You're allowed to see him. Just because you two dated does not mean that you should not talk anymore."
"Exactly and that is what I told him. I noticed that he was looking at me with so much pain and anger and I wanted to clear things up by telling him that we could stay friends but he refused. I don't know what to do."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"I'm sorry?"
"Do you want me to talk to him?"
"No, I think it'd be best not to but have you ever dated someone before me? Do you have any advice for ex drama? You know how mine is going with Callum. We're not talking and it will definitely not change."
"Of course, I understand. No, I never dated anyone. To be honest, nobody was ever interested in me - in a genuine manner - before you. Everyone saw me as the edgy, weird guy and it kind of always stayed that way."
"I'm sorry, I'm sure that if people really saw who you are as a person, they would change."
"Would they though? Maybe I'm the problem. I don't open up to people and somehow, you managed to read me like an open book. Your friends are adorable and really friendly but without you, they would never talk to me."
"Terry -"
"It's fine, we were talking about Callum anyways."
"I don't want you to feel sad."
"I don't, don't worry."
"Promise?" Brianna held out her pinky.
"Promise," Terry replied, grabbing her pinky with his. "Now, why don't you just wait a bit with Callum. I think he needs some time by himself before he can start a platonic relationship with you. If that's what you want."
"Yes, I just hate conflicts."
"I understand. Now, why don't we go back with the others?"
"Let's go!"
