we woke up the next morning at around 1pm. we had originally planned to be out of the house earlier to watch the sunrise but, we overslept. we got changed into 'walking' attire and elsie went downstairs to bring a backpack with snacks. i stayed behind and stuffed my mask in my pocket just in case and went downstairs too.

we left about twenty minutes later, not wanting to waste the small amount of sunlight we had left. i took sadie on the lead at first and held elsie's hand im my free hand.

we walked the short distance to the field and once we were a fair bit in, i took sadie off the lead and walked hand in hand with elsie.
it was dead quiet, no one was here apart from us two. it was nice. we were alone completely with no one else here.

"i had an idea." elsie brought up as we got to the bridge where we had our first technical date.
"oh yeah? what was that?" i asked.
"well, i was thinking, the sun is meant to set at roughly 5pm ... could we not take our 'reveal photo' here?" she asked. i felt my heart rush with anxiety.
"well ... what would we take?" i asked, feeling my face start to feel hot.
"it would be taken when the the sun was setting, we would kiss infront of the sun so we'd technically be a silhouette so our faces wouldn't be seen." she explained, stopping our walking to wrap her arms around my waist to look up at me. i placed my arms on top of her shoulders.
"well where would we take it?" i asked "there's not many places to angle a phone here."
"at the tree of course." she replied evidently, walking off to the right.
"right" i replied. "you understand that i've been here once right?" i added, walking after her.

we walked up a hill for an hour until we caught sight of a singular tree in the middle of the field surrounded by a forest behind the field in-front of us. it looked like it was old, like the whomping willow from harry potter, except it wouldn't come to life if it were to be  interrupted by wizards or a car.
"ta-da!" elsie said, "the tree!"
sadie ran down the small hill towards the tree. she bounced up and down to look at all the different and new surroundings as we slowly followed her.

"i've never taken anyone to the tree before ... not even meghan." elsie mentioned. "my mom and i came here a lot, just the two of us."
"well, it's a special place to you. i can understand that." i replied. "how is meghan by the way?"
"wouldn't know. we're not talking." she said nonchalantly.
"oh. i'm sorry." i answered.
"it's okay though!" she reassured me. she smiled at me sweetly and continued to walk to the tree.

once we had gotten to the tree, we ate some of the food that was in elsie's back. she also brought a bottle of water and a small bowl for sadie to drink out of. sadie gladly drank a third of the bottle before going back to running around the field.

a couple of hours had passed with us just talking and looking up at the clouds. elsie had put on our playlist on shuffle and we sang along to the songs we enjoyed most. soon enough, our favourite song came on.
elsie jumped up and reached her hand out to mine.
"do you wanna dance?" she asked with a smile. i stood up and smiled.
"i'd love to." i answered. i quickly pulled out my phone and started to record us dancing because i thought it'd be cute.

we started to dance hand-in-hand with each other, swaying along to the music. we pushed away from each other with our fingers still intertwined and we pulled ourselves back together. i let go of elsie's hands and wrapped them around her waist.

"i love you." i whispered as the song was about to finish. we pulled into a small kiss before pulling away and hugging her tightly, i bent down and lifted her by the waist, spinning her around. i placed her down and hugged her tighter.

after a couple of moments of swaying along, a small gust of cold wind passed through us and i felt elsie shiver in my arms. i took that as a message to maybe start heading back.

"you wanna start walking back?" i asked. elsie nodded her head and stepped back from me. stepped across to grab the bag and placed it on her back and i called for sadie.

we began to walk back briskly to the house. the sun was setting quickly and it was getting colder by the minute and as for our luck, it started to rain. it was just light spotting once we had gotten to the top of the hill, but then it began to rain more heavily. i called sadie over and picked her up, seeing as she was a small dog i didn't want her whole underbelly to be completely muddy. i then noticed that elsie didn't have a jacket, i quickly took mine off and placed them over her shoulders.
"warm up." i said. "lets maybe run back because it's probably just gonna get worse."
elsie nodded and we broke out into a small run.

20 minutes of heavy rain later and we had gotten to the sidewalk towards our streets. i placed sadie down seeing as it was just a concrete path from here to my house. we then quickly walked to my house and was instantly welcomed with warm towels by my mom.

"oh elsie love go have a shower and i'll make you some dinner for when you're out." my mom instructed. elsie did not hesitate and quickly and disappeared up the stairs.
"i'll just go get changed and come back down with els if that's ok mom." i said.
"that's fine love just make sure to take your stuff downstairs." she replied with a smile.
"thanks. love you." i smiled back and ran upstairs.

i quickly got changed into my brand's hoodie and some sweatpants before looking through the 4 minute long video at us dancing.
looking through it all, i caught a screenshot from just before i picked her up, it was perfect. the way the light of the sunset casted a perfect silhouette of the two of us, so in love.

elsie soon came back through with my varsity jacket on and looked at my phone with me.
"we should post that one. it's pretty." she said.
"do you ... wanna just announce it now?" i asked. elsie shrugged her shoulders. "it's up to you, you have the photo."
"okay then." i replied.
