i tried to cover the fact that my heart was racing a million times a minute when luke was reading the messages from my 'dad'.
"you're not going back to that place. not without me." he said, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and resting his chin on my head as he held me. i took a shaky breath as i relaxed into him.
"stay with serena until we get back, we don't know if he's in LA right now or not and if he finds you he might just take you home then and there." he said.
"okay." i replied.
"will you be okay?" he asked.
"yeah i'll be fine." i reassured him. he lifted his head and quickly pecked my lips.
"i love you." he said
"i love you more." i replied with a smile. he smiled back and laced his fingers with mine and walked me out to the couch where aimey and serena were.

"elsie's staying here with you serena if that's okay." luke said.
"yeah that's fine. are you okay els?" serena asked. i looked at luke for encouragement.
"her dad messaged her, he found out she's here and wants her to come back to the house that he kicked her out of." he explained.
"wait what?" toby said coming out of his room, bill following him. "he's wanting you back?"
"well yeah but he could already be here to take me, i shouldn't really be out in LA only for him to find me and just force me to a home i don't want to be in." i said quietly.
"you'll be safe here els, we can just watch south park or brooklyn 99 until they come back." serena said, standing up to lead me towards the couch. i sat next to her and crossed my legs.
"well that's perfect then. we could invite everyone over and maybe plan for something if things escalate or something." toby suggested.
"yeah maybe. i don't think it will though, i'll just say that i don't need to follow under his rules anymore because i'm an adult n stuff." i reasoned.
"i agree," luke started. he walked towards me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "but we don't want to risk anything."

"anyways, we need to go to the starting point so we'll see you in a couple of hours." toby declared. we all said our goodbyes and luke gave me a quick forehead before running out the door and leaving serena and i alone.

"ooh! wanna do a qna on twitter while we watch brooklyn 99?" serena asked.
"ooh, i've never watched it actually, lets do it." i answered.
"cool! we can do it on my account." she said.
