TWs : mention of an abusive parent
[[3rd Person POV]]
Toby sat in the water that swayed infront of the sand. "Toby you're going to get sick," Tommy called out from the dry land, Toby giggled in response. Tommy sighed, he kneeled down, took his shoes and socks off and rolled his pant legs up. He walked closer to the water, picking Toby up and quickly getting out of the freezing water.
Tommy grabbed his socks and shoes, heading to Rylan, who was trying to get sand out of his shirt. "You doing okay, big man?" Rylan grummbled, "Sand feels weird."
"Don't tell Wilbur that," Tommy joked.
As the trio was walking to, XD knows where, they came across Lani. "Lani!" Toby yelled, running ahead. "Toby!" The siblings embraced in a hug, "What the hell are you doing out so late?" "Why the hell are your clothes all wet?" Lani mocked. Toby looked down at his clothes and then back up at Lani, "Story for another day, but why are you out so late?"
Lani shifted, "Dad's pissed again..." "That fuckers still alive," Toby and Tommy shouted at the same time. Lani smiled sadly, "Yeah, a friend said I could stay at their place for now, so I was on my way there." Toby let out a sigh of relief, knowing that Lani has a safe place to go.
For the boys, a different story was in play. Sure, they could go to Techno's, or Phil's, but they didn't want to risk waking them up. Then, an idea sprung into Toby's head, "Do you think your friend would mind if we came along with you?" "Of course not! They've taken care of us before! Remember Eret?"
"Oh yeah, Eret!"
"Who's Eret?" Rylan asked, never have heard of Eret before. "Who are you?" Lani questioned Ry. "Oh yeah, Lani, this is Rylan, my roommate. Or, we call him Meow Meow!"
"No we don't"
"Oh alright," Lani looked up at Rylan, "why are you wearing sunglasses at night? Can you even see, not trying to be rude."
"Oh um, its fine. And no, I can't really see anything," Ry answered, avoiding the first question. Lani shrugged, "So are you coming with me?" The trio nodded, following Lani to Eret's house.
