Date night

It was 2:30pm and I had just finished getting ready for my date with Bucky. I was so excited. There was a knock on my door, I opened and Bucky stood there in his suit, not his date suit his mission suit. He looked up at me with sadness
"You've been called on a mission haven't you?"
"Yes I have, I'm so sorry doll"
I shake my head "it's okay. It's not your fault. We can do the date when you get back okay?"
"I don't know how long I'm going to be away Max"
"Oh" I look down at the floor. He lifts my chin with his finger and looks me in the eye.
"I promise you when I'm back I will make sure we go on an amazing date okay. The best date ever"
I giggle "I'll hold you to that Mr Barnes"
He laughs and kisses me, so passionately I feel like I could pass out from the kiss.
"I'll see you soon okay"
I nod and give him one last kiss "be safe okay"
"Always" he walks away and I close my door. I feel a tear roll down my cheeks. What did I expect? I'm dating a super hero after all.
I get myself all comfy in some pjs and decide to head to the kitchen and make my self some dinner. Pretty much everyone was on the mission so it was just me and pepper at the tower right now. She had already eaten so just me to take care of. I make my food and head to bed. It sucks that Bucky had to leave but it will be okay. I'm sure it will.

4 weeks later

I hear commotion coming from the landing pad, i rush over and see a jet landed and gurneys everywhere. They pull the first out and I see Nat on it, I run over.
"Omg Nat are you okay?"
"I'm fine Max just a little bullet wound"
As they roll her away, my dad walks down the ramp, i rush over to him.
"Daddy?"
"I'm okay sweetie, just been a rough mission"
Next to be rolled out was steve, he looked in a bad way "he saved me, he jumped in front of a grenade for me"
"Omg is he going to be okay?"
"We will know more when the docs take a look"
I see everyone coming off the jet but I can't see Bucky. "Dad where is Bucky?"
"Squish I think you and I need to talk"
"Where is he dad?"
"He got taken by hydra, they said his command words and he turned back to the winter solider. I'm sorry sweetheart"
"No!" I cried, I cared about Bucky very much and now he was gone.

After I calmed down I made my way downstairs to see how everyone was. Nat was sat up and recovering and everyone else had a few bruises. I went a sat with steve. He was okay just banged up. I was at there for a while when he moved his hand.
"Steve?"
"Max?"
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
"Like I was hit with a grenade"
"Well you were"
He suddenly shouts up "where is Bucky?"
I look down and shake my head "they took him steve"
"Shit!!" He punches the bed and nearly breaks it, I jump back "Max I'm sorry"
"It's okay. He's your best friend steve"
"I'll get him back I promise, I've done it before I can do it again okay"
I nod "I really care about him steve, I just want him safe"
"Me too" he pulls me into a hug and we just sit there together. After a while steve explains what happened and how Bucky was taken. They set a trap. They wanted him and they knew how to get him. Which means we probably have a leak. Problem is who is it?

Steve is discharged and I help him to his room, I go make him so soup and bring it to him. We hang out for a while in his room and watch some TV. He falls asleep pretty quickly. He must be so worn out. I cover him with his blanket, turn on the TV and head to my room. Buckys T-shirt is on my bed so I wear that and slip under the covers. It smells like him and so does my bed. I miss him. Steve promised me he would get him back and I hope that is true because I don't know what I'm going to do if he can't.
I slip into a restless sleep,  I can't help but think about what they are doing to him and how afraid he must be. I just want him here so he can hold me and call me doll and tell me everything is okay. I hope to god I see him again.
