I had been locked away for 2 whole months, steve came to see me everyday, he would update me on everything going on and he would bring me gifts from my dad, I still wasnt okay with what he did and I didn't want to see him. But he was working on braclets to not just dampen my powers but stop them. None had worked so far and we were all losing hope not just for me but also Bucky. We still couldn't find him.
"Hey princess"
"Hey. Got another bracelet?"
"Yeah. Want to get it over with"
"Please"
He passed me the bracelet and I put it on. I had to focus hard to use my powers. Usually they only worked when I was angry or upset. I was focusing so hard, but I couldn't feel anything. I looked down at my hands and there was nothing.
"I think he did it" steve said walking towards me.
"Steve wait! What if it's just delayed?"
"Max. It's okay"
He smiled and walked to me, he grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. He wrapped his big arms around me and crashed his lips to mine.
"I've missed you" he mumbled against my lips
"I missed you too"
We pull apart and he takes my hand "come on let's get you cleaned up and back where you belong"
"Steve? I'm scared"
"It's okay max we can take this one step at a time ok"
"Okay"
We walked to the meeting room, everyone was standing around the big screen. I walked in and steve cleared his throat
"Max?" Nat came running over and hugged me tight. Everyone followed suit.
"He did it, he actually did it"
"He did" everyone smiled at me "we are so glad your back" Sam says to me and I can't help but tear up.
I smile and look at steve "I should go find him"
He nods "ok. Do you want me to come with you?"
"No it's okay" I lean up and place a gentle kiss on his lips. Then I remembered we were in front of everyone. We hear a loud wooop coming from everyone and we both pull apart laughing. I walk off to find my dad. I need to talk to him.

"Dad?" I walked into his office and he turns around. He smiles at me but I can see the sadness in his eyes.
"It worked finally"
"Yeah I guess so. Thank you" I looked down at the bracelet.
"Anything for you baby girl"
I smile, he is still my dad even if I am angry with him.
"Max, I'm so sorry"
"I know you are. And your my dad I love you but I need time to forgive you. You kept so much from me dad and so did mum but she isn't here for me to be angry with. I promise I will forgive you but I need time okay?"
"Okay"
I go to walk out but turn around and hug him "I'll always be your little squish okay"
He nods and I see a tear fall. I kiss his cheek and leave the room.
I love my dad but there is a lot to fix.

I make my way to the roof and sit down looking out at the view. I hear someone opening the door behind me "hey girl. You okay?"
"I'm good thanks Nat. Missed this view"
"I bet. How did it go with your dad?"
"It's was ok. I told him I love him but I needed time to forgive him"
"I'm sure he understands"
I just nod and keep looking out at the view.
"So you and steve hmmmm?" She says nudging my arm.
I laugh "yeah. I love him Nat. But I feel so guilty"
"Why?"
"I was with Bucky before he was taken and now I'm in love with his best friend"
"Maxy you can't help who you love. Were you in love with Bucky?"
"No I wasn't"
"I'm sure he will understand when we find him ok"
I just nod.
Vision comes to the door "excuse the intrusion ladies but your needed down stairs"
"By who?"
"Secretary Ross"
"Great" me and Nat make our way downstairs. This couldn't be good. It never was with him.

We are sat around a table in one of the meeting rooms. Steve is behind me, hand on my shoulders. Ross is going on about how the avengers need to be controlled and talking about accords, to keep everyone in check. Basically putting a muzzle on the entire team.
"You can't be serious right now?"
"I'm sorry Miss Stark but this has nothing to do with you"
"This has everything to do with me. These people are my family. You have no right to do this. All they have ever done is protect this planet from unspeakable evil. What have you done exactly to protect the people on this planet?"
"They need to be controlled"
"I can't believe this. Dad?"
"Honey, just stop ok. This is between us"
"Wow! You agree with him don't you"
"Your dad is very much in board with this"
"Just when I thought you might have learned you lesson"
"Maxine stay out of this"
"No"
Steve stands up and takes my hand "come on max let's just go get some air ok"
"No steve. I don't want fresh air"
"Miss stark you can leave your not needed here"
"Go to hell"
"Miss stark leave voluntarily or I'll have you removed"
I look to my dad who doesn't say a word. I push past steve and run out of the door. I can't believe this. My own dad. He just keeps getting worse.
After an hour I see Ross leave so I walk to the room, I look around but I can't see steve.
They are all arguing "where is steve?"
Nat turns to me "he got a text and walked out"
I went to find him, he was at the bottom of the stairwell crying "baby what's wrong?"
"Peggy......she's gone"
"Oh honey I'm sorry" I wrap my arms around him and hold him while he cries. I knew about Peggy. And how much she meant to him.
This was the last thing he needed right now with everything else going on. I was trying to keep myself calm. I knew I had the new bracelet but I didn't want to risk it.
I needed to be here for him no matter what.
