I've been living at the tower for 6 months now and it's been great. I've been training not only in hand to hand but also weapons and I've loved it.
I've become really good friends with everyone especially Bucky, he has been really sweet and I enjoy his company.
The one I can't quite understand is Steve, he flirts with me all the time and I flirt back but he still hadn't asked me out. I don't really know why, I don't know if it has anything to do with my dad or what but it's getting kind of annoying. My dad is throwing a party tonight for my birthday and I'm just finishing getting dressed when I hear a knock on the door "come in"
As the door opens I see steve stood there
"Hello Cap, you look very handsome" he is wearing a blue buttoned shirt and black dress pants, his arms are bulging out of the shirt, he looks good.
"And you look beautiful Max"
I'm wearing a blue maxi dress, thigh high split, hugs me in all the right places.
"Thank you" he walks over to me and kisses my cheek "happy birthday Max"
He hands me a small gift box "what's this?"
"A gift, open it"
As I open the box I see a beautiful sliver necklace, it has a shield pendant and is very delicate.
"Wow, it's beautiful. Thank you"
"May I?"
"Of course"
I move my hair over and he put the necklace on me, I feel his fingers lightly touch my skin and I feel it burning. This man does things to me.
I turn around and smile "how does it look?"
"Perfect"
He brings his hand to my cheek and lightly runs his thumb along my cheek. He is leaning in and we are just about to kiss when I hear Nat at the door
"Hey, birthday girl. Time to party"
Steve pulls away "sorry am I interrupting"
"No, I was just leaving." He kisses my cheek again "see you at the party"
I smile and turn around to see Nat smirking at me. "Don't" I warn her "let's go"
We walk into the party and as always it's way over the top. I see dad walking towards me
"Hey sweetheart"
"Hey daddy"
"Happy birthday"
"Thank you"
Pepper hugs me and wishes me happy birthday too. I look around and I don't recognise half of the people here. This is going to be a long night.

It's getting late and I can feel myself getting very tired, i look over and see steve talking with a blonde women and some other men. I make my way over and hear them talking
"She seems a bit spoilt to me, I heard her early saying thank you daddy. God that bugs me"
The blonde says "yeah weird how she just shows up after all these years, probably run out of her trust fund money and needed a top up, heard her mum is a bit of a gold digger anyway"
They all laugh, I look and see steve laughing too and then he speaks "well all starks are a bit stuck up I guess"
I can't believe he just said that, he gave me a necklace and I thought he liked me but I guess not. I walk over and tap him on the shoulder, he turns around and smiles at me.
I rip the necklace from my neck and place it in his hand. "Might want to make sure I'm not around next time you want to talk about me, you can have this back, I mean obviously I'm too stuck up for it right"
"Max wait"
I walk off and out of the party, I can feel the tears running down my cheeks. They don't know me at all, I've never excepted any money from my dad. Me and my mum figured out a way to put me through college and uni without my dads help. I never wanted the stark money. I can't believe steve would think of me. I thought he knew me but I guess not. As I'm walking back to my room I bump into Bucky
"Ooof sorry doll didn't see you there" I go to walk past him and he grabs my arm "hey, what's up?"
I look up at him and he sees the tears running down my face "max? What happened?"
I just start sobbing and he wraps his arms around me. After I calm down a little he walks me to his room and gets me to sit on his bed while he gets some tissue.
"What happened max?"
I sit and explain everything to him and get more upset "Buck I've never taken money from my dad, everything I have and have done has been because I've worked hard for it. I can't believe steve would think that"
"Neither can I. He is dick"
I giggle at and he smiles at me, he wraps me into another hug "I know you max and I know your nothing like what they said. Your beautiful, kind and independent. And if steve can't see that then it's just his loss"
I lift my head and smile at him. He brings his hand to my face and wipes the tears away. I feel him lean in and he kisses me softly.
"Sorry....I shouldn't have done that"
I smile at him and pull him in by the nape of his neck, I kiss him, passionately. He moans into the kiss and gently pushes me back. We lay on his bed, him above me just making out. His hands caress my thigh and my hands are in his hair. It feels good. He pulls away from my lips and makes his way down my neck, he is good at this. I pull his head back up and look him in the eyes.
"Can we go slow? I don't want to rush anything"
"Of course doll, whatever you want"
I smile and kiss him "we can keep doing this for now"
He smiles and kisses me again, Bucky is an amazing guy and I really like him. Maybe I could be happy.
