When Elena first heard that Lizze was engaged, her thoughts were initially filled with joy and happiness for her sister. Her face lit up with a smile, and she hugged her sister tightly. Despite her excitement, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the thought that her own love life hadn't progressed quite as smoothly. She was careful to conceal her true feelings and maintain her cheerful demeanor.

The wedding planning was stressful for Elizabeth, what with her mama breathing down her neck every second, making sure that everything was perfect. Lord Watson's family had organized a beautiful grand wedding and it was everything that she could ever dream for. She finally got what she deserved. Lizzie had a perfect family and a perfect husband. So when it was the time to part ways with her loved ones, she couldn't help but feel a small pain in her chest.

Standing in front of their beloved family home, the Bennet family gathered together to say their temporary goodbyes to their eldest daughter, Elizabeth, as she prepared to depart with her new husband to start their life together in the countryside. Emotions were running high as they embraced their loved one. The day was bittersweet, as the Bennet family rejoiced in their daughter's happiness but also felt the pang of her absence.

After offering each family member a sorrowful goodbye, Elizabeth made her way towards her younger sister with a sad smile. She softly caressed her cheek, taking in Elena's beauty before tightly embracing her into her arms. "Never forget who you are, Lena." They pulled away from the hug and Elizabeth cupped her face. "You are your own person."

"I'm going to miss you." Elena said as she gave her sister a sad smile.

"Do you know what you plan on doing now?"

Elena took a deep breath as she looked down at her feet. "I think I am going to follow in your footsteps and sit out on getting married this season. To give me some time to work on myself."

Her sister smiled. "If that is what you want, I believe it to be the right decision."

The sound of a carriage approaching interrupted the sisters' conversation, bringing their time together to a close. Servants scurried toward the carriage door, ready to open it for the newlyweds, while Elena and Elizabeth shared one final smile and embrace before the oldest made her way towards the carriage.

While Elizabeth shared a last goodbye to her parents, Arthur took the opportunity to wrap an arm around Elena to console her. She smiled at him and rested her head on his shoulder. The whole family lined up and watched the carriage leave.

"She's finally married." Arthur said with a proud smile on his face.

Elena side eyed him. "She would've been last season if you weren't so prejudiced." Elena replied, releasing herself from her brother's embrace and going back inside the house.

"William?" Lady Bennet called as she knocked on her husband's office door. "Did you get any news from the-" She ceased talking when she entered the study, spotting Elena sat in front of her father. It seems they were waiting for Lady Bennet's arrival.
