"When did you guys travel here?" Dandelion asked.
"Only like two minutes ago," Pinkie shrugged.
Elina's smile kept growing wider by the minute. She'd been waiting for this day for weeks! The pale pink wings behind her back seemed to shimmer even more.
Her wings.
Elina had never imagined to fly. She had been born wingless, and had been ridiculed her entire life, until a flying sickness and the Guardians of Fairytopia being kidnapped occured, and Elina, along with the other Equestria Girls, braved the elements and saved Fairytopia from Laverna, the Enchantresses evil sister. As a reward, the Enchantress gave all eight of them the power to fly--their own wings.
The girls had to leave shortly after though, since Pinkie said that Elina and Fairytopia lived in a 'movie,' whatever that was. It took some time, but Elina finally accepted the truth: their geodes were giving them the power to come to her world! The seven of them left with only a promise to return someday soon.
And that day was today!
That's when Elina looked past the Equestria Girls and saw one she was most excited about seeing again.
"Sunset," she breathed.
"Hey," Sunset said, and the two of them squished each other into a tight hug.
"I've been dying to know what's going on in your world!" Elina exclaimed as the two broke apart.
"Then let's multitask!" Dandelion suggested. "We'll show you more around the Magic Meadow, and you'll tell us what's been going on the last two weeks!"
"Sounds like fun!" Pinkie grinned, and the nine of them took off.
"I still can't believe I have wings," Elina said as the group landed in the middle of a large flower. "I always wake up thinking that they'll be gone, and that this is all a dream."
"Then good news!" Pinkie said, holding her phone. "There's a clock!"
"Come again?" Twilight pushed her glasses up her nose.
"I read somewhere that if you think you're dreaming, look for a clock," Pinkie explained. "If there is one, then you're not dreaming. Your brain can't physically conjure up clocks during dreams."
Everyone stared at the girl for a little while in confusion and silence.
(A/N: true fact. think about your last dreams. do you recall seeing any clocks? no? i rest my case)
"Elina, you have to reassure yourself that you earned these wings," Dandelion said. "Every day you act like you'll never see them again!"
Elina couldn't help but giggle a little.
"ELINAPOO!"
A blue and pink puffball nailed Twilight in the stomach, nearly knocking her off the flower.
"Bibble," Elina giggled, picking him up. "What's wrong?"
Bibble began speaking in his puffball gibberish as Twilight peeled herself up, noticing Pinkie mocking the puffball (she'd always been annoyed at Bibble for some reason).
"You think someone's following you?" Elina asked.
"How she understands that thing, I will never know," Rainbow Dash whispered to Sunset, who snorted.
Bibble nodded at Elina and pointed in the distance, where they could see a tiny pair of hot pink wings.
"Huh," Elina said. "Interesting."
She turned to the rest of the group.
"I've got a plan," she whispered.
"I don't know, Bibble," Elina said, her voice louder. "Maybe it's just your imagination."
She motioned for the girls to follow her as they flew into the air, quietly flying to where the wings were hiding.
"I think you should just forget all about it," she added as they "disappeared" from the hiding fairy's view.
Elina gently touched the fairy's wings...
"AHH!" the fairy screamed, and Bibble started screaming as well.
The fairy tried to escape when she ran into Dandelion and Fluttershy. She started screaming even louder.
"GAH!" Dandelion cried.
The fairy started flying backwards, crashing into Bibble.
"Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked, helping the little fairy up.
"Thank you," the fairy said. "I'm fine, just fine."
"To be fair, this was her idea," Rainbow Dash shrugged, pointing at Elina.
"We're sorry if we scared you," Elina said. "But why were you following Bibble?"
"Bibble?" the fairy wrinkled her nose in confusion. "What's a Bibble?"
It finally hit her.
"No!" she laughed a little. "I wasn't following the puffball. I was following you eight!"
"Us?" Fluttershy jumped a little. "Why us?"
"There's no Wenlock," Rainbow Dash reminded her as Fluttershy gripped her arm. "You destroyed Wenlock. There's nothing to worry about."
She'd noticed that reminding Fluttershy that threats like Wenlock were over seemed to calm down the scared girl a little.
"Yes, and I was worried I was following the wrong fairies," the fairy began venting. "But then I saw your necklaces and was like, 'Self, that's them!' because I was worried I'd run up to a random group of fairies and tell them that Nalu's in trouble and since Nalu is the prince of the merpeople I was thinking--"
"Wait just a second," Applejack interrupted. "Did you say something about Nalu being in trouble?"
"How did you know?" the fairy asked before remembering her vent. "Oopsie. I didn't want to break it to you girls that way, just wanted to ease it in, ya know, that he's been kidnapped by fungi and tied and up and will do who knows what to him if he doesn't give them what they want, because who would just say something like that without--"
The fairy remembered that she wasn't alone again.
"Oopsie," she gave a nervous grin.
"Nalu's been kidnapped by fungi?" Elina asked. "That's impossible. Are you sure?"
The fairy nodded. "I saw them down by the Crystal Cove. I wanted to stop them, but I couldn't, so he said for me to find you girls, since you're the only ones who can help!"
"But what can we do against Laverna's fungi?" Elina asked.
"A lot," Dandelion reassured. "You've all already defeated Laverna once."
"But we all still had help," Elina pointed out. "We might have to talk to Azura, or another Guardian fairy, or the Enchantress."
"There's no time!" the fairy yelled. "You need to get to the Crystal Cove now! Nalu needs you! Will you do it?"
Silence hung in the air.
"I mean, isn't there still like an hour left in this movie?" Rainbow Dash shrugged.
"Pretty much," Pinkie agreed.
"Let's go, then," Elina declared.
