Max finally pried the golden yellow berry off its vine, admiring the red stripe across it.
The immunity berry was now in his possession, and soon, he'd give it to Laverna.
How fitting that everything worked itself out in the end.
"Nori, your arms."
Nori looked down to see blue swirls tattoo just below her shoulders.
"Y'all's too," she said.
Elina and Twilight noticed the same design on their arms, only Elina's was hot pink, Twilight's a deep indigo.
"But we can get it off, right?" Twilight pushed her glasses up her nose. It definitely would raise suspicions if she started walking around with a strange tattoo.
Not to mention Sunset said that Trixie was really on the girls' case right now.
"What I'd like to know is why it just suddenly appeared," Elina wondered aloud.
"Oh, that? It's just the mystical 'crest of courage,'" Pinkie shrugged. "Ya know, since you three made it to the bottom of Mermaidia and stuff like that."
Twilight could sense that Pinkie was a little uptight at the moment.
"Is everything okay?" she asked.
"Oh, nothing's wrong!" Pinkie plastered on a fake smile, but it quickly dropped when they saw a flash of light.
"Your necklaces are already turning back to white," Nori observed. "You two just have to make it out of the water in time."
Pinkie pursed her lips together.
She wasn't sure how it was gonna go down, but she worried that one of the two wouldn't make it.
Soon, the group reached the entrance to a cave, only... it was filled with fire.
"Nope, I'm out," Rarity said. "This is too much already."
"Come on, drama queen," Rainbow Dash said. "I'm sure it's fake."
"Don't!" Nori pulled her back from touching a flame. "Those are boiling hot geysers. They say mermaids have been incinerated just by brushing up against one."
"Because we don't have enough pressure already," Rainbow Dash mumbled under her breath.
"Maybe the bubble knows another way," Elina suggested.
But that plan fell apart as they watched the bubble burst.
"What? No!" Nori cried. "That's impossible! Magic bubbles can't just pop!"
"Maybe this one can," Elina reasoned. "The fish said the bubble would start us on the right path."
"So now we choose," Nori said. "Up or down?"
"I vote up," Elina said, starting to swim upwards. "He was found above water, so it makes sense."
"But wait a second," Nori cut in. "Nalu may have been above water, but it didn't look like he'd been dried out. Even though it was so bright and sunny. And there's only once place where I know it's like that."
"And it's through the geysers," Twilight groaned, and Nori nodded.
"It's through the geysers," Pinkie confirmed.
They all stared at the fire being spewed out inside, threatening the group.
"Don't worry, we just have to follow the patterns," Nori said. "I've done stuff like this before. There's three mermaids, and six fairies. We'll each take two. I'll lead the way."
Twilight was only vaguely aware of Pinkie and Sunset clasping her hands. Applejack and Rarity held onto Nori, and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash went to Elina.
"One..." Nori said, watching the fires slowly die off for a moment. "Two... three... four... five... go!"
And they all took off, swimming through the first five geysers before they went off.
"This way!" Nori ordered, and they started swimming off. "Stop!"
Twilight paused just before a geyser could take her out.
"Now!"
She gripped her two friends tighter and started swimming again.
(She had to admit it, she was impressing herself for how fast she adapted to a tail)
"Stop!"
Elina screamed as she was nearly hit.
"Go!"
Nori swam even faster.
"We're almost there!" she called out.
Elina could see the ending just right there...
"We did it!" she exclaimed as all nine of them got out of the flames.
"Wait," Elina started looking around. "Where's Bibble?!"
"Hopefully dead?" Rainbow Dash whispered, and both Pinkie and Sunset quietly snickered.
"Hold on," Nori said. "I'll get him."
And with that, she went back into the geysers.
"Bibble?" she called out, doing her best to avoid the fire. "Bibble!?"
She turned and saw the puffball next to a bunch of small smoking geysers, about to erupt.
"Bibble!" she gasped, scooping him up just before the geysers went off.
Luckily, they both made it in time.
"Bibble!" Elina exclaimed.
"He's a little soft-boiled, but he'll be okay," Nori said.
"You can open your eyes now," Elina said, and Bibble shakily opened his eyes.
"This way," Nori instructed.
"Okay, next time something like that happens, I'm just leaving him," Sunset groaned.
"Oh no, he's in like two other movies," Pinkie shrugged.
i guess the new fairytopia running joke is dashie, pinkie, and sunset's shared annoyance about bibble
