"Here we are," Nori said as the group stopped. "The Depths of Despair."
They all looked down to see a deep pit, filled with... they wanted to say roots; they weren't sure.
"What's it like inside?" Elina asked.
"Oh, just a lot of... creepy stuff..." Pinkie peeped.
"No one's ever been down there," Nori explained. "And if they have, they never came back up to tell."
"Something tells me they're gonna make it," Sunset whispered to Rainbow Dash.
"It's called the power of shipping," Rainbow Dash replied, and they both giggled a little.
"Alright, so who's going?" Nori asked. "I know I am."
"I volunteer," Elina said. "What about you?"
The seven Equestria Girls shared worried looks.
"I guess I'll go."
Every eye turned to Twilight.
"Twilight, are you crazy?" Applejack asked.
"Look, I'm sure we'll be fine," Twilight reassured.
"NOBECAUSEIHAVEABADFEELINGABOUTHOWITSGONNAGODOWNINTHERETWILIGHTISWEARDONOTGODOWN!" Pinkie wailed.
"Guys, I'll be fine," Twilight said. "We'll let you know what we find out."
And with that, the mermaid, the fairy, and the human began going down into the Depths of Despair, leaving Bibble and the remaining six at the top to worry.
"Pinkie, why are you freaking out?" Fluttershy asked.
"If I tell you, you guys might follow and it'll get worse," Pinkie replied, biting her lip so hard it nearly started to bleed.
"I don't see why people make such a big deal out of this," Nori giggled a little. "It's not bad at all!"
"I guess..." Twilight said, struggling to keep up, with Elina having about the same amount of success. "I think the current's just a little strong."
"It's not bad, you two just need to swim harder," Nori reassured.
"We're swimming as hard as we can," Elina panted.
But Nori still was moving too fast for the other two to keep up.
"Nori, wait!" Elina called out. "We can't go that fast!"
"Sure you can," Nori giggled. "Come on."
"I'm being honest when I say that I am trying as hard as I can!" Twilight avoided the flying roots. "It's just... NOPE, THIS IS TOO HARD!"
"Nori, the current, it's too much!" Elina said.
"It'll be fine," Nori called back. "I'll handle it myself."
"But Delphine said we have to work together!" Elina cried, struggling to stay in the same position. "Come back up; we'll all figure out a solution."
"That's a waste of time, I can do this," Nori reassured. "I promise I'll let you know what the mirror says!"
"But Nori!" Elina cried, but Nori was already too deep.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Twilight said.
Nori was so close to the bottom. Sure, the current had been getting stronger the deeper she went, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle.
