TW: Slight swearing and slight mentions of injuries

Katerína's POV

"Mione. Hermione!" I nudged the Gryffindor girl who was sleeping on me. "What?" She asked half asleep as her eyes fluttered open. "We need to go back. If you aren't in your room before the morning, your friends will go looking for you." I warned her seriously.

She tried to stand up but ended up failing due to her ankle. I offered to carry her since I did so before. Mione looked at me as if I had three eyes or something. "I carried you before. When you fainted at the quidditch tryouts." Her face went crimson red and she looked down from embarrassment. I chuckled at her reaction.

She ended up just putting her arm around my shoulder while I held her waist. "Are you cold?" I asked the girl. She was shivering a lot. She would be lying if she wasn't cold, even with my jacket on. "Just a little bit." The frizzy haired girl answered truthfully. "Here." I wrapped my green scarf around her neck. "Thank you." Mione responded in a wispy voice, barely above a whisper.

Hermione's POV

We have been walking for quite a while now, and everything was going smoothly. Until suddenly, I almost tripped, again, from a twig that I didn't see. Thank Merlin for Rina's fast reflexes. She got hold of my arm and pulled me towards her, almost making her fall backwards.

"You should really be careful. I'm not going to be there to save you all the time." The girl holding me joked while I playfully hit her. My eyes suddenly met hers and I just realised how beautiful she really is.

Her big green eyes shimmering under the moon. Her short, red, wavy hair tied into a french braid, and some loose strands flowing around due to the wind. Her plumped lips and button nose and some light freckles scattered around her face.

I didn't know what I was doing. I leaned in, and so did she. Our lips touched. But that didn't last long. *Crack* Both of us widened our eyes.

She let go of me and grabbed her wand out, which caused me to stumble and almost fall. The redhead girl apologized. I took out my wand as well. "Who's there!" I exclaimed, my voice slightly trembling. "There yer ar'!" A familiar voice called out. "Hagrid!" I sighed in relief. "I told ya not ta move." I giggled nervously. "It's a long story, let's just get out of here."

Rina walked me to my dorm since I still couldn't walk properly. She insisted on bringing me to Madam Pomfrey, but the injury wasn't that bad, so I denied the offer.

"Hey, uhm, Mione." The green eyed girl stammered. I turned my head towards her and nodded, gesturing for her to continue. "Can you please, uhm, not tell anyone. About what happened. Please?" She asked, trying not to sound impolite.

I felt my blood boil. Here I thought she changed for the better. "Yeah yeah sure. I don't want others to know I kissed a Slytherin anyways." I looked down, trying to hide my disappointment. "Mione, I didn-" I stopped her. "It's Granger for you." I said sternly as I murmured the password and went into the Gryffindor common room.

Katerína's POV

'Why did I do that?' I scolded myself. I should have just kept my mouth shut. I do like Hermione, a lot. I honestly didn't care what others would think if they did find out that I kissed a Gryffindor girl. What I am really worried about was if my father found out. But Hermione and I could figure it out if he did find out. 'Why do I just have to go around hurting people?'

"Look who's finally back." A snarky voice stated. "Malfoy I'm really not in the mood for your bullsh*t. Why aren't you sleeping?" I asked in annoyance. "Nightmare. Now where were you? I went to check on the cabinet and you weren't there."

I plopped down next to him on the couch, exhausted. "Filch caught me in the hallways and I had to have detention with Hagrid." I uttered out while rubbing my forehead.

"Didn't Snape help you get out of that?" The boy with platinum blond hair next to me furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Granger was up too. It would definitely be suspicious if one of the students got out of detention." I then explained while he nodded in agreement.

"So why was that mudblood up?" For some reason, hearing him call her a mudblood made me mad. I never felt like that before since I used to call her that as well. "Don't call her mudblood." I mumbled. "Why do you care what I call her?" I pulled my wand out and pointed it at his neck. His grey eyes went wide. "What are you doing!?" He shrieked, surprised.

I realised what I was doing and quickly put my wand away.

"Oh Merlin!" He gasped out. I looked at the Slytherin boy, eyes full of confusion. "You fancy Granger!" I started shaking my head vigorously. "No! No I don't!" He then started laughing. "So you don't want me. The pureblood Slytherin prince. But you want some nosy mudblood Gryffindor? You have worse taste than I expected!"

I cover his mouth with my hands. "Shut up! You're going to wake up the others!" He smirked against my skin. "You just confirmed it! You do like her!" I glared at him. "Don't tell anyone, please." I pouted teasingly. "Fine. But you do realise you will never be able to be with her right?"

I stared at him confused "You-know-who and your father is not going to allow you to fall for a muggle-born, or anyone at all. With all the 'love is weak' sh*t. You will have an arranged marriage at some point. You always had a soft spot for the people you cared for. I don't think you would want to break Granger's heart."

I just then realised that what he said is true. 'How can I be so stupid?' "I- I'm going to bed. Good night." I stammered and walked to the girls dormitories.
