Chapter Twenty-Six | Truth

I'm going to marry Valentius Estephan del Sol.

Three years ago, I would have laughed at anyone who suggested that. Me... marrying my openly bisexual roommate? What on God's green earth would even necessitate that?

I smile at myself when I reflect on everything that happened since. That dream I had, that night where I couldn't sleep, that moment I realized I was in love with my best friend, that first time we slept together...

And now, we're going to have a baby, and we're going to get married.

Who would have known na tama pala ang hinala ni Mommy tungkol kay Valen? My heart twisted as a knee-jerk reaction. I never really thought about marriage before Valen, pero napagtanto ko that my parents would be in attendance.

Tumikhim ako at pinilit ang sarili na balewalain nalang ito.

The next day, Valen and I talked about getting a marriage license. I suggested that we could elope after the baby comes, or even later than that. He insisted we should do it as soon as possible.

Dahil pareho kaming below twenty-one, we would have to get parental consent to get married, a privilege we didn't have at the moment. My parents would not allow it, and Valen stated that there was no scenario in which his dad would know about me or the baby. He didn't elaborate.

Despite my headache, Valen looked so hot when he talked about acquiring a marriage license. The authority in his voice and the glasses he put on made me want to climb him like a tree. Gods, I should really check on my hormones.

"We could just be common-law-married, Valen. I mean, we would have to wait for five years before we're recognized, but we'll have to wait anyway if we want to avoid submitting parental advice."

"Baby, I would rather die than just be your live-in partner."

I rolled my eyes at him. Ugh, so dramatic so early in the morning.

"There's a judge I can talk to..." His voice slurred, "A friend of my mom's. I think I can convince him to marry us without our parents' consent."

My brows furrowed as I looked at him.

"Have you gone crazy?" Komento ko, "That would make the marriage voidable."

Valen only stared at me. I took his hand and placed a chaste kiss on his knuckles.

"Valen... we can wait. We have all the time in the world. I'm not going anywhere."

Bumuntong-hininga si Valen.

"I'll still try anything, alright, baby?" He said softly, "I want to marry you now."

I raised a brow at him.

"Before I change my mind?" Panunukso ko.

The side of his mouth tilted.

"I've convinced you before," His eyes were playful, "I can convince you again. Mostly by my sex moves."

My cheeks heated and I forced myself to squint at him.

"Feeling!" Pang-aakusa ko.

Valen's soft chuckle enveloped the room. He leaned to me and planted a soft kiss on my lips.

Valen and I talked about other things, too. We discussed how I won't be able to proceed to the next semester because of the pregnancy. Valen, on the other hand, will be taking the subjects he failed in the summer. The plan is that we'll take the next semester together once the baby arrives.

We aren't thinking that far ahead, but we're going to figure it out together. With Valen, I feel like can do anything.

The day after that, nagpaalam si Valen na may pupuntahang shoot. He also planned to pay a visit to the judge he talked about.
