Chapter 3

Monaco 

Loud cheers filled Stephanie's head as she, Pepper, and Tony stepped out of the vehicle. They were in Monaco for a famous race. She held Pepper's hand as Happy closed the door behind them and followed Tony in a building. "You know it's Europe. Whatever happens the next 20 minutes, just go with it." Tony said to Pepper.

"Go with it? Go with what?" Pepper asked, but before Tony could answer Natalie interrupted them.

"Mr. Stark." She greeted

"Hello."

"How was your flight?" A waiter came up to the group to offer drinks. Tony grabs one as he answers.

"It was excellent. Boy, it's nice to see you." Pepper looks at him in shock and grabs a drink herself.

"We have one photographer from the ACM if you don't mind." Tony chuckles as Natalie takes his drink. Pepper turns to him with a forced smile.

"When did this happen?" referring to Natalie.

"What," He replies with clenched teeth. "You made me do it."

"I made you do what?"

"You quit. Smile." Pepper forces a laugh and smiles when Tony points out a camera. "Stop acting constipated, Don't flare your nostrils."

"You are so predictable. That's the amazing thing." Pepper looks down at Stephanie when she feels her tugging at her wrist. Stephanies pointing at Natalie whos motioning them over. 

"Right this way," she says. Stephanie and Pepper trail behind Tony and Natalie as the two of them make conversation so Pepper can grab another drink. 

"Pepper, I'm hungry." Stephanie whines. Pepper leans down and pats her on the back.

"You are? Well go with Natalie and find a table with her okay." Stephanie nods and lets go of Pepper's hand to catch up with the assistant who is talking with a waiter. She reaches up to grab Natalies elbow which catches the red head's attention. Natalie pulls Stephanie in front of her with her hand clasped on Stephanie's shoulders and continues talking to the waiter. She trying to get him to give up the corner table for the Starks but he's being very stubborn. The little girl sways on her feet before the waiter agrees and sits down. 

"I'll be right back kid, I'm going to lets Tony know the table's ready." Soon Stephanies sitting at the table with Pepper waiting for Tony, who said he was going to "freshen up." The eight-year was eating some chicken tenders and french fries while her guardian was reading some magazine. She looked up at the TV above their table as she heard people cheering. 

"Hey look, it's Tony." Pepper looked at her in shock before turning towards the television. 

"What!?" She sighed before calling over Natalie.

"Yes, Ms. Potts."

"Did you know about this?" 

"This is the first that I have known of it." Pepper scoffs.

"This can not happen."

"Absolutely. I understand. How can I help you?"

"Where's Happy?"

"He's waiting outside." Stephanie listens to this as she blows bubbles into her water.

"Okay, get him. I need Happy."

"Right way." Pepper tenses as she watches the TV. Stephanie chuckles.

"I think it's kind of cool." She looks at Pepper who scoffs. 

"Of course you do. Eat your food." Stephanie purses her lips and goes back to her chicken nuggets while watching the TV broadcast. As the race begins she laughs as Pepper freaks out. "I don't see what the big deal is. It's just fast driving." she thinks.
