Chapter Seven - Burnt Toast

You woke up, feeling your legs next to Leaf's legs, making you blush slightly. You blinked multiple times to gain consciousness of your body and slid out of bed. Leaf woke up seconds after you, following you out of the bedroom.

"Good morning." Said Leaf to you, before you walked out of the bedroom.

"Morning..." You said, tired.

You and Leaf walked to the kitchen, smelling tea and burnt toast. You could hear Ash and Gary crying. When you could see them in your sight, you saw that their Charmander toy broke. It was painful to look at.

You and Leaf approached Daisy and Professor Oak, who is in the kitchen drinking their tea together.

"Hey, I think your toast is burnt." Said Leaf, nodding to the toaster.

Professor Oak turned to you and Leaf, and his eyes lit up.

"Leaf, is that you?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's me." She said bluntly.

"It's been so long! Daisy explained to me about where you guys have been. How are you?"

"I'm fine, I guess." Replied Leaf.

Professor Oak then turned his attention to you.

"And this is Y/N, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, that's right!" You said, amazed to meet professor Oak in person. You remember when you were a kid you idolized the professor. You wanted to be just like him.

"It is very nice to meet you, Y/N!"

"You too!" You said awkwardly.

"Do you two want any tea? Daisy made a pot of it earlier this morning." Said the professor, taking a sip of his tea from his mug.

"I'm fine." You said.

"Yeah, same." Said Leaf, agreeing with you.

"Alright, then how about some toast?" He asked, going to the toaster. "We can make some more since this is burnt."

"That would be great!" Said Leaf.

"Mhm!" You agreed.

You and Leaf sat on two rustic wooden chairs at the breakfast table, talking and watching Gary and Ash play with their fixed Charmander toy. Daisy walked up to the two of you with two plates of toast.

"Here you go!" She said cheerfully.

"Thank you!" You both said in unison.

"You're welcome!" Said Daisy, walking back to the kitchen to enjoy her tea.

You and Leaf munched on your toast, enjoying every single bite. You never ate in a while. You only remember that you ate some berries when you were in the forest. You then heard the front door open.

"Gramps!" Said a boy who looked a lot like Daisy, but more masculine.

"Hello there, Blue!" Said Professor Oak, greeting his grandson. "How have you been?"

"I tried to climb up mount Silver to talk to him, but it was too windy up there; Practically impossible to climb up that mountain in that weather."

The professor nodded. "I see. It's okay, Blue. I know that we are concerned about Red, but let him be."

Blue nodded. "Alright. See you later, gramps." He said, walking to his bedroom. He glanced to you and Leaf but didn't say anything.

You and Leaf finished eating your breakfast and brought your plates to the kitchen, where Daisy and Professor Oak were standing.

"Thank you for the food." Said Leaf, placing her plate into the sink.

You placed your plate into the sink, too, and thanked Daisy and her grandfather for the hospitality.

"Feel free to come here any time!" Said Daisy, smiling at you and Leaf.

"It was nice meeting you, Y/N, and it was great to see you again, Leaf." Said the Professor. "Y/N, Leaf can teach you many things about Pokémon, and catching them. It is a fun and adventurous experience!"

You nodded.

"And contests are fun, too!" Daisy added.

You nodded again.

"Thank you!" You and Leaf said before walking out of the Oak's house.

Leaf closed the wooden door behind her after you and her exited the house and lead you to the poke-mart. She bought a couple of poke balls, and handed them to you.

"What are we going to do with these?" You asked.

"Just wait and see!" Replied Leaf, leading you out of the poke-mart, going to the tall grass.
