Tubbo roamed the discarded furniture filled dinning rooms and corridors, looking for any bit of entertainment  the kingdom could offer the bored soul.

He settled in a ballroom with a glass ceiling, the sun casting shadows on his skin and glow in his eyes.
"Sir, although you wish to explore, i am under strict orders from Prince Velvet to watch over you." A guard spoke, stepping out from the side of the doorway.

Tubbo huffed. "Why's he think im a toddler? Im mature too!" He stomped his foot on the marble, causing discared papers to drift off a window table and onto the quartz flooring.

"That's ironically very immature, your highness." The guard moved to return the paper to its prior ownership.

"That was very mature, go fuck yourself." Tubbo pushed, crossing his arms.
"Language."
"What are you, my english tutor?" He said, tilting his head.
"No sir, although you shouldn't waste your childhood on trying to be an adult."

The boy sighed deeply. "Whatever."
He sat down on steps that lead to an overlook of the ballroom. He turned to the masked guard.
"Whats your name anyway?" He asked.

"It's Dream." Dream answered, sitting right beside him.
"Okay then 'Dream'"
He stood up.
"Follow me."

Dream and Tubbo walked around the castle together, looking up at paintings of landscape or sculptures of greek gods.

Something caught Tubbo's eye. "Look." He pointed to the painting.

The artwork was an illustration of their family, Tubbo was only a baby, being craddled lovingly in his mother's arms. Beside her stood Father and Velvet, Velvet grasping cloth on his mother's sundress, looking up to her with a wide smile, and Schlatt slightly grinning.

They stood in silence, overlooking the painting that hung above them. "The Queen was delightful." Dream finally spoke. "She was sunshine in a person."

Dream stepped forward, hovering his hand on the glass. "She once handed me a pastry she had baked, obviously im not allowed to eat on duty, but she kept insisting i do. I remember how she smiled when i finally took a bite, and how it widened when i smiled back."

Dream placed his gloved fist against his heart. "Although she's been gone for years, her love rings clear through these walls."

"I dont remember her at all." Tubbo finally said. "Velvet won't tell me about her either."

"Im not allowed to comment on that."

They stood in silence, observing the brushstrokes curved and masterfully executed into their family.

"Dream?" The boy looked up at him. "Yes?"
"Why do you wear that mask?"
Dream laughed. "Funny story, actually."

"You've got this Velvet!" The Queen cheered.
Velvet charged Dream with a sword, Dream easily pushing past him.
He stumbled forward, his sword falling beside him.

"No i don't, Mother." The red head grumbled, his clothes stained with the earth. "My sweet child." She moved to pick him up.

"My Queen, would you like me to go easier? He's only 8." Dream asked, furrowing his eyebrow. "No!" The boy yelled. "I got this!"

"That's my brave soldier!"

Velvet rushed him, only this time Dream was distracted.

Velvet made a large cut on Dream's cheek, causing the tutor to grab his face and scream.

"UH" Velvet dropped his sword. "MOTHER!" he cried, covering his mouth. "Oh dear-!" She ran to the tutor. "Are you okay sweetheart?"

Dream stood, still covering his face. "I'm okay!" He said hoarsely. He removed his hand, his palm being stained with his own blood.
