Marinette in Danger

Marinette POV:

This weekend is the big dance. I'm so excited. I've been sewing one of the dresses I designed non-stop ever since I found out about it. And going back to school? It's been an adjustment but everyone was so apologetic about how they had treated me before they knew that Chloe and Lila were lying. There was one person that I've been hoping to ask to the dance and today is my chance. If I don't do it now, then I don't think I ever will. I just hope I'll be able to speak normally and not stammer when I do it.

"Alya, I'm so nervous. What if he says no?"

"Marinette, relax. He's been the one standing up for you when it came to Chloe and Lila remember?"

"Yeah. But still, the fact that he believed me when no one else did and that he stood up for me against Lila and Chloe just makes me like him even more and makes me even more nervous."

"Marinette, you need to be more confident in yourself. You're smart, kind, pretty, brave. He'd be a fool to say no to you."

"I guess you're right Alya. Okay. I'll ask him. But I just hope I don't stammer the whole time. Here goes everything."

I walked up to Adrien as confidently as I could. I was so nervous, but Alya was right. I had to be confident. I can do this.

"Hey, A... Adrien." I said shyly.

"Oh. Hey, Marinette. What's up?"

"Oh. Uh... So, the big dance this weekend. Should be a lot of fun right? I mean, if you go with the right person. NOT that you would go with the wrong person. I mean, that would be ridiculous. NOT that there is a wrong person. I mean, you could even go solo if you wanted." I was rambling at this point.

"Marinette, I'm having a hard time understanding what you're saying."

I took a deep breath. This was it. I had to do it. It was now or never. "What I'm trying to say, well ask really, is if you would want to go to the dance with me. AS FRIENDS! TOTALLY AS FRIENDS!"

"Sure. I'd love to go with you Marinette. But, if you're okay with it, I'd like to go not just as friends, but as more than friends."

"You mean like best friends?" I asked jokingly.

"More than that."

"Super best friends?" I joked, loving the torture grow on his face.

"Even more than that Marinette."

"Are you saying what I think you're saying, Adrien?"

"That depends. What are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking that you like me and you're just too scared to admit it." I laughed.

"Do not. Am not."

"Do too. Are too."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"No."

"Yes."

"Aha. I got you to admit it. You like me Agreste. Admit it. You like Dupain-Cheng."

"Okay. Fine. Maybe a little bit."

"Well, what are you gonna do about it, Adrien?"

"I'm gonna take you to the dance and you're gonna have the time of your life. That I promise you."

"I better. Because I like you too Adrien."

"Really?"

"Really."
