Link relayed the entire legend to Yunobo and Bludo. He decided to change the context of the story from the Hero of the Wild to an ancient Goron hero who saves his entire race from being destroyed when Rudania had gone berserk during a test operation with the ancient Champion of Vah Rudania.
"So... basically, we use my cannons to launch something large into Rudania to chase it off?" Bludo asked, looking slightly confused.
Link nodded. "It wasn't specific on exactly WHAT was used, but it did say that it needed to be large enough to cause Rudania to go into a panic mode and run off." he answered confidently.
Yunobo looked up at the volcano, then to Rudania, then back at Link. He was clearly thinking of something large to launch at the Divine Beast. Perhaps he was thinking about rocks that could be large enough.
"I've got nothin', goro." the Goron finally said.
Then, Link had an idea. "Yunobo, you are Daruk's descendant, right?" he asked.
"Yeah, why?" the Goron responded.
"Can you use his power, Daruk's Protection?" the hero continued on.
Bludo raised an eyebrow at the hero. Yunobo seemed to already be connecting the dots as to where Link was going with the questions about his birthright ability.
Yunobo nodded. "What's your plan, goro?" he asked curiously.
"The legend goes into detail about how exactly the hero took down this beast. Apparently, the hero and a Goron used a protective shield and the hero blasted the Goron through canons at the Divine Beast to weaken it." Link explained with a series of hand motions towards the Divine Beast.
Yunobo and Bludo looked at each other with realization. "I have cannons situated around the mountain." Bludo answered with a nod.
"Good. Yunobo, just to be safe, use Daruk's Protection." the hero ordered.
Yunobo clashed his fists together and an orange shield formed around him. Link recognized it as the protection ability from the legend as well as the Legend of the Hyrule Warrior.
"Good. Bludo, will you be able to go up the mountain?" Link asked.
Bludo nodded. "Unless you know how to work my cannons, then I do have to come along." he pointed out.
The hero sighed gustily. He checked himself before he decided to head out. He patted himself down for his sword, shield, vial of water, and everything else. Link nodded to himself and looked up at the Gorons.
"Let's go. We've not much time to waste." the Gerudo man ordered with a start in his step.
The Gorons rolled after him as they made their way along the path and across the bridge that went over the city. They eventually reached the Goron Hot Springs and even further ahead, the Bridge of Eldin.
They crossed the bridge onto the actual mountain itself. The Divine Beast roared angrily and four compartments by its legs opened. Odd, flying machines came out and got situated along the path up the mountain.
Yunobo sighed. "Yikes. Those are sentries up ahead. If they spot you, the Divine Beast will send magma bombs raining from the sky in an attempt to kill whoever was spotted." he explained with a nervous touch to his voice.
Bludo walked up the path. Yunobo and Link followed behind.
"Either of y'all have a way to get rid of those sentries?" Bludo asked gruffly.
Link looked down at his vial of water. It was worth a shot to try and use his new ability to control water. He grabbed and looked at the water inside. Link focused on the water inside.
It began to float out of the vial and he let his power flow to his hands. The water moved to the sentry ahead of them. It crackled and began to glitch and malfunction.
After a moment, it fell to the ground and exploded. The water flowed back to Link and into the vial.
"What was that?" Yunobo asked.
Bludo cleared his throat. "It's almost like he was controlling the water. Link, your name has too sacred of a meaning to be used on several occasions. Where are you really from, brother?" the Goron elder asked suspiciously.
The hero sighed. I can't lie anymore. I suppose I should tell them where- and when- I am from. he thought quietly.
"Fine. The truth is I am not even from around here. I am from Gerudo Town." he answered softly.
"But Gerudo Town has a law against men. How could you possibly live there without having to dress like a woman?" Yunobo asked confusedly.
Link sighed and rolled his eyes. "I am not from this time period either. In reality, I was not even born yet in this time. I am from two thousand years in the future. Came through a Gate of Time in the Temple of Courage somewhere in Faron." he explained.
"If you came from the future and you have the Master Sword, you must be the next hero then." Bludo pointed out.
Link nodded. "Valoria is not defeated. He is only sealed for now. But in my time, Valoria has awoken as a false Calamity. He killed King Lindor and has laid ruin to Hyrule Castle. Castle Town survived because everyone evacuated on the king's orders. But I must come here to complete a trial.
"Four mages appeared in this world and have infected the long dormant Divine Beasts. With these mages are four stone fragments that are needed to open a portal to a world of which only I can gain access to." Link explained, detailing his entire situation and explaining the lengths of his quest.
Bludo nodded. "Then as we must. Let's get this mage taken down." he said confidently.
They marched up the mountain, taking down sentry after sentry. Finally, they reached the first cannon.
"Yunobo, are you ready?" Link asked.
