Heartbreaker

The baseball game.

My heart was racing it was time for boys to ask girls to the dance. It was a end of the year dance. Me and jake were going together he hadn't asked me yet tho. Cassie and her bf were going he asked her in the cutest way! He brought her flowers and asked her in front of the whole school. The dance was tomorrow night and I couldn't wait. All of a sudden the sweetest thing happened to me. I saw ilyssa gasp and she looked behind me then twisted me around.
I turned around and saw no other than jake with a huge card asking me to be his date to the dance. He was on one knee with flowers and a beautiful necklace with our names in it. Then he said...
"Will you Taylor Rosalie Pate go to the dance with me, I know it's not that big of a dance but it's our first one together. I love you and got this necklace for us being together for a month. So will you Taylor Rosalie Pate be my date to the dance?"
"YES!!!!"
He put the necklace on me and I gave him a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek. I was so happy everyone clapped and so many people were like I wonder what it'd be like getting asked to the prom with him. I couldn't help but laugh. I was so happy then everything got better. Jake whispered he'd be back. Next thing i know I turned so ilyssa back would be facing away from the hall. I saw cade coming and jake had somthing in his hand. Then jake gave the thing to cade and come hugged me then I told il to turn around. The look on her face was priceless she was so shocked and surprised. He asked her to the dance and gave her a note and he said don't open till you get home. She of course said yes and so became ilyssa and cade. Everyone was so happy until jake and cade had to go to the baseball game. Me and ilyssa went after school. But the rest of school was just me and her.
"So did cade surprise you?"
"Yes, taylor today couldn't get any better!"
"I know today was the best the effort the boys put into this for us!"
"Did you know jake would do that?"
"I had no clue!"
Then Selene come up to me asking me all kinds of questions. She didn't have anyone to go with so I set her up with Valerie. They were going as friend of course!
"So tay were you suprised?"
"Yes, Selene I was I really wasn't expecting anything!"
"Yea so do you know where Valerie is?"
"Last i saw her was over by the trophy case with her group."
"Thanks tay and congrats on jake!"
Cassie and her bf got distant really distant from me and ilyssa they just left.
"Hey il what are you wearing to the dance tomorrow?"
"I don't know tay you should come over and we will go shopping!"
We said it aloud so maybe Cassie would join the conversation but she didn't. She just gave dirty looks and I didn't understand why. The bell rang for 7th hour I told il bye and I'd meet her at he locker to go to the game. Mr. Peters class was so boring. We learned about lines if symmetry on animals. Yea it's boring but I still pay attention just for a good grade in that class. He usually make cookies that he gives us and they are actually really good! The bell rang for the end of school I went and got my stuff and headed to ilyssa locker. When Cassie stopped me and told me that someone is threatening to beat Jakes ass after the baseball game and told me to watch out. She walked off before I could ask who. I went to ilyssa and told her and she said yea that a kid is threatening my boyfriend. So me and ilyssa went to the game and I was cheering jake on and cade. All of a sudden one of the preps come up to me and punched me in the jaw. Ilyssa pushed her off of me and told her to back off. I tried to get up to hit her back but ilyssa pushed me down. The prep said somthing to ilyssa and walked off with her buddy. Ilyssa helped me up then I realized the game was over. So I was thinking whoever wants to beat Jakes ass sent a girl to keep me back. After 10 min jake come up their and a 7th grader told him I got punched. He looked at my jaw and said I would be fine kissed me on the lips then sat down next to me. Then the same girl come up to me and ilyssa with her bf she looked straight at me and hit hit me agian this time I pushed ilyssa out of the way and I hit her as hard as I could. I broke her nose and busted her lip. She left me alone alone the rest of the game. Her boyfriend on the other hand kept saying things to cade and jake. Me Me and ilyssa decided to grab the boys and leave the game. We walked the track for fora bit then ilyssa and cade left.
Me and jake went to a bridge and looked at the water he gave me his hoodie to put on so I did.
"Babe?"
"Yea tay?"
"Do you think people will keep doing this till we break up?"
"Don't worry baby, I won't let anything happen to our relationship."
I laid my head on his shoulder and he cooped me up in his arms. He kissed my hair line the moment was perfect. Then his phone rang. His mom had called waiting to pick him up. I walked with him and meat his mom.
"Hi, you must be taylor right?"
"Yes, and your Jakes mom."
"Please call me manda!"
"Okay, well it was nice meeting you!"
"It's your mom coming to get you?"
"She will be late like usual."
"Well it's getting dark I'll take you home."
"Thank you so much!"
"Anytime sweetie!"
I got in the back with jake. He held my hand and I laid my head on his chest.
"Where do you live taylor?"
"I live about 30 min in Indianola."
"Wow that's a long way away!"
"Yea we are moving here in town so it won't be long till we are here in town!"
"Oh okay well let's listen to some music."
I laid my head back on Jakes chest. He rapped his arm around me. Next thing I know was he was waking me up.
"Babe were at your house."
"Oh okay."
"I'll walk you to your door."
"Okay!"
I lifted my head up and unbuckled my seat belt.
"It was nice to meet you manda!"
"Same to you night sweet heart!"
I got out of the car and it was so cold jake put his arm around me and we held hands.
"Well today was fun!"
"Yea! I am not ready for it to end I don't wanna leave you!"
" Me either!"
"I love you so much babe!"
"I love you so much to!"
"Night I love you!
"Night I love you to!"
He kissed my lips and left. I walked in the house with my mom and dad asleep.i got in the shower and went straight to sleep.
