Daniel and I arrive at the beach just as everyone else starts filing in, we walk down the path to meet Ali as she waves to us frantically.

I'm glad that she bought a new radio since Johnny broke the last one, but I also feel kind of bad. Like I could have prevented it from happening. My mind dismisses the thought of Johnny Lawrence and I return to the party.

"Oh my gosh! Danny you brought grilled cheese? I love grilled cheese!" Ali laughs when Daniel pulls out the tupperware full of freshly made grilled cheese, I laugh along with them.

Freddie comes and sits next to me, when he notices that I'm slightly alone. "Hey Jo, glad that you made an appearance." We laugh, and I shake my head.

"I wasn't going to, but I was bribed and begged." I say casually, Freddie pats me on the back and tips his head back in laughter.

"Well either way, I'm happy that you're here." Our eyes lock for a moment and I feel my face heat, Freddie wasn't exactly boyfriend material, but he had been nothing but kind to me since the LaRusso's arrived and I liked him for that.

"Who wants to go for one last swim?" Kelsey, one of Ali's friends asks the group.

Immediately Ali, Danny, Freddie, and some of Ali's friends; Marley, William, Lily and I all run to the water ripping off our clothes and straying them on the beach in the process.

The others start tending to the fire, and keep an eye on our stuff. Someone throws us a beach ball and we start tossing it around in the water like children. I can't help but laugh when Daniel tackles Ali from behind to get the ball.

"Daniel! You got my hair wet, and now it's going to frizz, thanks a lot." She playfully smacks him on the shoulder, and Kelsey and I exchange a glance. Love is adorable.

The sun begins to set and the water starts to get much colder, so we decide to head back in and roast some marshmallows. I dry myself off and thanks to the fire when I put my comfy clothes on nothing is cold.

Others had the same idea as me and before long, we're all huddled up next to the warm fire, sweating in our layers of clothes.

It's Daniel's idea to tell scary stories.

"How about you go first Josie? She always used to scare me when we were little with her stories." Danny says the last part to Ali more than anyone else.

I shake my head and smile, "Okay, how about 'La Signora Contorta?" I ask the group, everyone looks around at Danny who's flushed, he nods once. Remembering the nightmares that he got from this particular story.

I noticed the shadow before I saw the creature, because the shadow's cast by the moon and trees were swaying in the wind, whereas this one was holding. Perfectly Still.

I had been walking through the woods, on a night much like this one, when I got the erie feeling that I was being watched. I had never been to this part of the woods before, let alone at night, and I knew that I wasn't alone.

It was comforting in the sense that I knew that no animals would attack me now that another person was nearby, but I was unnerved by the thought that it wasn't a human nor animal, but possibly something else.

The thing in the trees was built like a spider in itself, with long disjointed arms and a narrow sullen face. It stood at the same height as a small tree, around seven feet, and looked down at me with blank sockets for eyes.

It had lanky, jet black hair covering it's cheeks and back. Some patches were thin, and others were just gone completely exposing a brown patch of decaying flesh underneath. The creature looked at me, and smiled. Or what I assumed was a smile.
