Around ten o'clock I find myself feeling a bit drowsy, Jimmy and I had talked the whole night. He genuinely cared about what I had to say, and he listened to me. It didn't feel romantic, or anything along those lines, it was more like a quickly developing friendship.

I rest my head on his shoulder as the night goes on and more people show up, and he lets me. I quickly fall asleep. It's peaceful to say the least, after learning more about this boy I felt comfortable around him, and for the first time that night I let myself relax.

The first time that I quoted Winston Churchill in front of another student my age, and he understood the reference. We broke down the quote, talking about what certain things meant and comparing ideas.

Not only was Jimmy kind, he was also smart. It just made me wonder even more how he ended up with the Cobra Kais.

It was around one o'clock in the morning when I was hauled up by two sets of arms. Jimmy on one side and Bobby on the other, "Josie wake up, you have to be counted." Bobby says in my ear.

I swat away from him like a fly, but then I wake up fully. "What?" I say still tired, although my senses slowly start to rise to a panic. What time was it? Is it even the same day?

"It's a massive game of manhunt, we play it every month." Jimmy says beside me, they've dropped my arms to let me walk by myself, but Jimmy walks closer to me.

There's a boy standing on top of a tree stump, above everyone else explaining the rules of this game. "For everyone who doesn't know me, I'm Jeffery, and I'm the gamemaster for this month." He takes a bow and everyone claps and cheers, exaggerating his movements greatly.

"I see we have a few new faces here tonight, welcome." He gestures to me, and two other girls standing near Dutch, a blonde and a girl with black hair but not as dark as mine.

I nod at him, he doesn't look as drunk as half of the other people here and he seems genuine, he returns the gesture and goes back to explaining.

"The rules; Two people will be selected in the beginning, you should notice that you all have pieces of paper? Write your name and toss them into the beer cup right here." He kicks the red cup next his foot. He continues on, smiling and gesturing to the small crowd.

"The rest will have until the count of one hundred to hide anywhere within the forest limits. No going past the stream in the west, and no climbing the fence in the east. And Dutch don't try to scale the mountain in the back like last time." There's a laugh from the group, and Dutch laughs along with them. This is more than slightly weird.

"You can run, hide or sit and wait for the hunters to get you, but when you get tagged you must be dragged back to one of the original hunters, you can always escape from the tagged hunters." I note this detail in my head, and continue listening.

"Does everyone have their names in?" He calls out, I quickly grab the slip of paper that a girl named Debbie passes me and scribble 'Jo' on it. She snatches it back and puts it in the cup, she hands it to Jeffery.

Jeffery shakes up the cup, and sticks his hand inside. He pulls out a name, and squints to see it in the dark. "Jaxon Davis?"

A tanned boy with jaw length curly blonde hair steps forward, he looks like a typical surfer boy and quite attractive.

"Very good, very good! Our first hunter, a hand for Jaxon everyone!" Everyone applauds except me, Jaxon actually notices this and for all of hell he winks at me. I scowl, I have nothing against him I just don't want to be here and I'm exhausted beyond wits.

"Our next hunter would be Bobby Brown!" Jeffery calls. Johnny, Jimmy, Dutch and Tommy cheer for their friend as Bobby goes up next to Jeffery.

"All right, the countdown will begin when everyone is ready. How do we all feel!" There's a loud cheer from the crowd, and the Cobra Kais leave Bobby to join the crowd of people.
