Part Nine: Master Plan

The story of my little accident is surprisingly kept quiet, and before long it's been nearly two weeks and Halloween is fastly approaching.

Apparently, every major holiday there's a dance, and considering that it's Halloween, it's themed as well. At first I wasn't going to dress up, but Danny and Ali convinced me after much persuasion. Including a sleepover at Ali's for my birthday, no boys allowed.

Daniel and I are in our room getting ready for the big dance, thankfully Karate and School have still been normal despite the attempted murder on my life and school had gone by quickly today, "Danny, do you have a black blazer that I can borrow?" I call from across the room.

He nods, and digs for a second through his wardrobe then throws me one. Ali wanted to go as an angel, and I couldn't blame her because she could pass as one without the costume. Because it was a group costume, I was going as the devil and Danny was going as Jesus.

I grab a pair of patchwork black and grey jeans, the blazer that my brother gave me, and the Red Leather jacket that my father had sent me last year.

I paint my lips with a cheap black paint from the corner store by the school, and add the red horns that I bought at the same store.

I'm about to walk out the door, but Daniel comes up beside me and shuts it with his hip. "Not so fast, fleetfoot."

I roll my eyes, "I hate when you call me that."

"I don't care, because you said that your revenge plan was going to happen soon and I haven't heard a thing. I think that tonight would be perfect, Josie, I have a plan."

"Well, I guess I haven't given much thought about it, what's your big plan my friend?" I reply, with an evil smirk.

Danny tells me about his plan, and honestly I've never heard a better one. It's the perfect revenge, and I can't believe that my twin came up with it considering that we share the same collective brain cells.

I call Ali on the landline and she comes to pick us up, we tell her about our master plan on our way to the dance.

"Oh, it's brilliant! But I don't know guys, it sounds pretty risky." Ali says, looking at us when there's a break in traffic. Danny lets out an exasperated sigh and I groan running my hands down my face, "No, Ali, you don't have to do anything except meet us around back. They won't even know it's you, because as fate has it you're driving your mom's car not yours."

She nods her head back and forth, as if weighing the pros and cons of the outcome of the situation. "Okay fine, but what if I don't get there in time? I still want to enjoy the dance."

I put a hand on her shoulder from the backseat, "Ali, it's going to take us long enough to set it up. If Danny's right about this, and his calculations of their time schedule are accurate, you should be good for an hour or so." We lurch forward as the light turns green, and she sighs.

"Okay, I'll do it." She says bravely. Daniel and I cheer as we roll into the parking lot.

We step out, me in my Devilish outfit; Red contrasting as the only colour against the black, I had on heavy makeup, and despite cheap it still looked good according to me, my raven hair was straightened and in doing so it touched my waist, the bangs that I had cut for myself last summer fell into place along my brow line in a shaggy wave.

Then Ali in her modest white dress and glittering golden Halo, her hair had been pinned up and hair sprayed to the point of death, but she still looks amazing. Danny then emerges in his white long sleeve shirt and a red sash across his chest from mom's old fabric chest. We looked pretty cool for a bunch of nerds.
