Epilogue

Knock, knock, knock! 

"Open up!" called Sarah from behind the old mahogany door. The room was dim from the morning lights when Katarina dozily opened one eye in response to the racket. She looked around and over the hills of sheets to the side of her wary of awakening the sleeping beauty beside her. 

11:30 am read the clock.

The noise of Sarah's banging ceased and slowly Katarina slumped back down into the warm spot of her bed. Her eye remained open and her gaze fell upon the peaceful Frost Archer's sleeping face. Her tousled silk hair was spread evenly along the pillow, lightly covering her cheeks and forehead. Katarina brushed aside the strands slowly to display the long snowy lashes that bordered her pink cheeks. The Noxian marveled each inch of her bare porcelain skin becoming flushed with heat. There was no greater beauty that what was in front of her, not even the most intricate weapons ever designed could match. 

Turning to her back, Katarina exhaled and kept her eyes open upon hearing another loud bang from the Bounty Hunter. Everything was back to normal it seemed, all except her. No matter how hard she tried, Katarina couldn't shake off the stress she bore. How could it be? There was peace now that they were home, in her bed curled up together. Everyone was safe now, no more pain or suffering. Tryndamere was locked up for a long time and Ashe was finally catching up to the endless nights. 

Something just didn't seem right. Maybe it was the terrible memories or the nightmares that plagued her. Maybe it was him playing tricks on her again. Her mind flooded with ideas she didn't want to think especially now. Sensing Ashe stir awake, Katarina shook her head to clear the thoughts and looked to her with her best smile. 

"Good morning." she whispered and pressed her lips on the Frost Archer's head. The latter instead rose up and kissed her saying alluringly, "I expected a more proper welcome."

"I'm sorry." Katarina apologized. Ashe responded concerning over the brooding Noxian who sounded distant. "Is there something wrong?"

Bang! Bang! 

"Katarina Du Couteau! You better be up now or I'll bust down this door right now!" 

Ashe grunted and left the bed while slipping into a robe to cover herself. She unlocked the door quickly and swung open the door to face Sarah who grinned widely. "What is it?"

"HE-Oh. Um...hey there Ashe. Is Katarina in there? I wanted to see her." she said rubbing her neck a bit nervous upon seeing the archer unexpectedly.

"We'll be ready in a few minutes." she sighed coming out a bit harsh at first. She knew she had no reason to be upset at Sarah but what Katarina felt was more important now than her request to see the Noxian. "Could you wait please?"

After Sarah stepped back nodding, Ashe shut the door and clicked it with her hand on the edge to make minimal noise. She turned to Katarina who sat up on the bed, not giving importance to her exposed body. "What did she want?"

Ashe blushed slightly and said ignoring her rising pulse, "She wanted to see you so I told her to wait for a few minutes."
