It took us three days to get Halivaara. During that time, the underworld opened up often, and Sebaiwhyn had to defend us before the devils swallowed us. We used our time travelling briefing Sebaiwhyn about the prophecy and what we had to do. Our only goal then was to pick up a chosen one and head to Clackton's dark castle, where two beings would give us important information. During this time, we had to face a storm. Strong, cold winds. Hard floors to sleep on. Huddled to our mounts, and using all my might to keep the Heat Bubble from bursting. Phaedra and Venus caught a strong cold because of the rain and temperatures. We could only hope that they got better over time. We only had Sebaiwhyn's canned food to eat, but soon we would need something stronger. Unfortunately, Darmerlington is huge, but has very little overworld population. We couldn't stop by any villages, since there were none. On the third day, sand began gathering at our feet. It smelled of fish and salty water, though we still had a bit of way to get there. I have only been to a lake once in my life, in one of my cartography trips with Morgan. It wasn't my favorite experience, and Morgan often made fun of me by telling me that that's why I was so pale. She said I needed foreign waters, and not just Silverkeep creeks. Once we saw rocks in the distance, we knew we were there. Right after the wall of rock, there was the great underwater state of Halivaara, gleaming under the powerful sun, waving slowly and peacefully, and making me sick at the remembrance of the boat in my dream. Halivaara was a lake so vast, you could call it an ocean. It was too wide to be surrounded, and it would take us weeks to get to Clackton if we tried that. We had to go through it. As we neared it, I heard a small splash in the water, which I quickly disregarded.
"We have to leave them," I said, referring to our mounts.
"No fucking way, Ceceir," said Morgan, "I'm not leaving Ansgul."
"Yes. we have to leave them," I said with an attitude.
Icarus looked at Kaoni, the biggest, most gorgeous beast among us, "Isn't there some kind of spell?" he asked solemnly.
"It won't work on mounts," I told him, as I stared at Urer, the black and grey beauty. He had silver hair that cascaded over his eyes, a sturdy horn that raised from his nose, and beautiful big antlers.
We hopped off our mounts, and I brushed my hand on Urer's snout, "Find your way home, baby. I'll meet you there," I smiled as he huffed in sadness. I knew that we were close enough to Darmerlington that Sebaiwhyn's mount could help the rest get there.
Icarus shed a tear as our beasts, our pets, went away, walking slowly returning from where we came from. They looked like a little family. They were so smart and beautiful, it pained me to part with them, and we never saw them again.
With them on their way home, I crouched on the ground, and opened my backpack. I grabbed two empty bottles, and put some of Halivaara's water in them. I looked in the water, staring intently. When the silent waves favored me, I grabbed a jellyfish with my hands, and ripped it open, spilling its insides in the bottles. My companions looked at me weird, while Morgan simply shrugged it off, a normal thing for me to do. I mixed ingredients imported from Silverkeep, and it was done.
"I'll call this one 'into the water'," they looked at the foul liquid, "It will temporarily turn us into sirens or mermaids since we don't have a boat. It lasts a week. But I made another bottle just in case."
Hesitantly, they passed the first bottle around and drank the potion. In between their gags of disgust, I drank the final sip easily. Nothing happened. Their faces of doubt encouraged me, and I dove head first into the pit that is Halivaara. It was painful, but my legs binded together, growing a tail and fins. Sometimes, our body figures don't translate correctly into other beings' types of bodies. As they dove behind me, some struggled more than others.
