They ended up waking up a while later. Techno sitting up first, tiredly going to the kitchen. Dream just laid there, a blush coming to cover his cheeks as he thought of pleasant warmth that radiated off the brute hybrid.
As he stood up, he realized he may need to some swimming soon. Now that he thinks of it, Drista probably will too. Deciding to just say later, he got up and stretched.
As he walked out, dressed in borrowed pajamas, he was greeted by what could only be described as chaos. As he walked towards the table, a pancake was thrown at his face, it landed and then fell to the floor. Everyone froze as Tommy started crying.
"Dream, I'm so sorry." The kid sobbed, "Please forgive me."
He just chuckled and reassured him, "It's alright, Tommy."
As he walked around the table, he ruffled the blond's hair before leaning down and kissing Purpled's forehead.
"Morning, mama!"
There was a silence before Ranboo tugged on his sleeve and very cautiously asked, "Mama?"
He said it so genuinely and as he took his took his time to answer, Ranboo's eyes started watering. Tommy and Tubbo were also looking at him with waiting eyes.
So he said, "Uh... yeah!"
As the kids cheered and no one noticed how Techno tensed up.

Afterwards, Dream took Drista and Purpled to go play in the river, Tommy joining, but lingering by the edge. The other two were sitting on Philza's porch that had a swinging bench. He made it his personal mission to avoid George and it seemed like the other was trying to avoid him as well.
The kids kept to themselves and as they were planning something, Tommy holding a stick and drawing in the sand gave that part away. Dream couldn't care. He was mostly thinking about how quickly the kids got attached.
Though before he could really think, he saw Niki walking over. Her messenger bag slung over her shoulder.
She waved as she got closer and that's when he noticed the tall man walking next to her. Then Niki pointed at him and as they got closer, he could finally hear them.
"The guy on the missing posters, right?"
The man shook his head, pulling the paper out of his pocket, "They do like similar though, but this isn't Xde."
He was moving before he even knew it, standing in front of them he asked softly, "Xde?"
"Yeah." He nodded, and that's when he noticed the gas mask and the glare, "Who are you?"
"My name's Dream."
The man's eyebrows rose and then stuck his hand out, "I'm Sam. One of Xde's friends."
Dream took Sam's hand. It's not everyday you met one of your missing brother's friends.

Techno got out of bed earlier than he wanted that morning. Trying to hide his blush as he rushed out to go make breakfast. Nothing like waking up cuddling with Dream after all.
Then his kids slowly woke up, making there way to the kitchen table as he made pancakes. He's been trying to learn it so he could help on the pancake days and today was one. Techno was not about to force Dream over to the other house though.
As he served the pancakes to the chaotic gremlins, he was not expecting Tommy to suddenly launch one directly at the freshly risen Dream. Nor was he expecting him to burst out crying with apologies.
He watched out of the corner of his eye as the axolotl calmed him down, coming over to ruffle his hair before kissing Purpled's forehead.
"Morning, mama!" The kid smiled.
A blush came to his face as Ranboo asked, "Mama?"
Turning away from the scene, he focused on the pancakes to distract himself, but his blushed deepend as Dream spoke.
"Uh... yeah!"
It felt too domestic. The thing Techno had given up yearning for after years of taking care of his three. Now three turned into five and it felt domestic.
He burnt the pancake he was working on as he felt a tear slide down his face.
Maybe, just maybe, this could last.

The feeling didn't go away even as he started on his daily routine. The three water hybrids were joined down by the river by Tommy, who seemed to happy not going in the water. Looks like he learned his lesson from the first time he tried it.
Then there was Niki coming with the mail and today she was accompanied by Sam. Techno knew the creeper hybrid, knew him well. Well, mostly knew that he wasn't the best at flirting. He cringed remembering all the attempts he witnessed between him and Philza. Unfortunately for him, the crow can be very oblivious sometimes.
Stopping to watch, he saw Dream get out of the water before shaking his hand.
Speaking of the oblivious crow, Techno watched as he exited and came to walk over before seeing what he was looking at. The retreat was swift and expected.
No one said Philza didn't like Sam, quite the opposite. Both were just very oblivious and bad at flirting.
He waved greeted the three, who were getting trailed by easily distracted kids.
"Sam's visiting!" Tommy shouted at him, "Isn't it exciting?"
Techno nodded then met eyes with said man, "It's been a while hasn't it?"
"It has." Sam then sighed, "I've been looking for someone and somehow I've found his brother first."
As he was shown the missing poster, he was shocked to see the resemblance, but there were obvious differences. Dream's hair was a bit longer, not to mention the picture had a lot of freckles scattered almost in X pattern across his face.
Then the last part of the sentence hit him.
"You have a brother?"
"Yeah, we're twins actually. I thought... he..." Dream took a breath, "He was headed for the end which is why I was... makes me wonder."
Drista decided at that moment to speak up, "Is he the guy on all the wanted posters too? He looks familiar. Is his name like Xde or something?"
"That's exactly his name." Sam confirmed then asked, "How do you know him?"
"I met him when he was hiding!" She smiled, "To be fair I was also hiding. He was running from hunters. They were scary. He had like these bandages covering his face like an X, but it seemed like he could still see. Told me which way to go to find help and that's when I met Dream!"
Techno paled, "The hunters in the woods... they weren't attacking the village for Sapnap or Karl..."
"Xde was there." Dream finished for him.
The implications that they were somehow tracking Dream's brother were major. There was good chance he was long gone, but they could always check. Techno made a mental note to ask one of Philza's crow friends to scout it out.
Looking at Dream, who's gills were curling in and was chewing on his lip, he just hoped that his brother was okay when they found him.
