Chapter 14: I Would Fall for You Over and Over Again

Dream woke up to small hands slapping at his face. Opening his eyes he was greeted by Purpled.

"Mama." He said, letting him sit up, "Papa hasn't woken up yet and I'm the only one brave enough to try to wake you."

"Oh, what time is it?"

The little drowned shrugged before climbing off, grabbing his hand and trying to take him with him. He gave in easily and followed.

He wanted to knock, but found himself being dragged in and it became evident that none of the kids had looked inside when there was no Techno to be found.

"Did you guys even check?" He laughed, looking over at the kids hanging out in the hall by their dad's door.

Tommy looked up him and pouted, "Yeah we did! We knocked before entering too!"

Dream paled, "And was he inside?"

"Yeah?" Ranboo questioned, looking up from where he was sitting on the floor playing with Drista.

The axolotl nodded before decided to herd the kids to the kitchen for breakfast before investigating. Besides the kids could've just missed him or something...

At least he hopes.

When he entered the kitchen he was met with silence. No one was in it so now he had to make breakfast. As he started cooking, he heard little footsteps come running into the room and turning around, he saw Fundy.

"Where's your dad?" He asked softly.

The little fox just looked up at him and shrugged before joining the rest of the kids at the table.

He nervously chewed on his lip as he flipped a pancake.

Sapnap came over later and that's when he left to investigate. He didn't explain just asked him to watch the kids. As he walked into Techno's room, he flicked on the light and moved around the room. Dream realized his armor and sword was missing. Then he saw a letter on the dresser.

Picking it up, he expected it to be from Techno himself, but instead, it started out with Dear Techno.

The paper seemed old or at least not taken care of. Crumpled and with some water marks that looked like from tears, fresh too. So continued reading.

Dear Techno,

If you're reading this, this means it finally got to you!

I've been running from hunters since I left you. I met two people and we've heard rumors about how if we can free the dragon, we can free the hybrids.

I've dropped this at the nearest available post office, but I don't know where you live so maybe one day it'll get to you or they'll just throw it out. I don't know. I hope it gets to you.

... I might be dead by the time this reaches you. I hope I'm not. How are Tommy and Tubbo? I hope they haven't given you too much trouble! I miss you guys so much...

Techno... I don't think I'll be coming home. I'm sorry and I love you.

Dream froze.

There's no way. Maybe it's a different person... but it would explain something. He dropped the paper and ran downstairs.

"Sap, did I ever talk about a family when we were going to the end?"

He thought for a moment before nodding, "I think I kept the photo, you dropped it when you died so I kept it just in case I ran into anyone from the photo."
