Chapter 16: Warm Mornings

Dream woke up next to a warm body instead of the bathtub like he was expecting. He was no longer in his axolotl form, which wasn't too odd, when he first got here he found himself in his axolotl form when he woke up in the bathtub.

But what was a bit odd was the warm, fluffy body next to him. Before he knew what was happening, though as he moved to get up, whoever it was, even in their sleep, was strong enough to to pull him with them. Which is how he figured it out it was Techno because now he was face to snout. Well not really. He had to move his chin to look up, face on his chest. He felt the rumbling in his chest.

Though he was unsure why he was in piglin form.

But he was warm and soft so Dream found himself slipping back into sleep.

When he woke up again, he was still on top of Techno, but he seemed to be awake this time. By that he means as Dream laid on his chest, he sat up enough so he could read a book.

"Morning, Dream." He spoke.

Instead of greeting him back, he just groaned and buried his face into his fur.

"Still sleepy?"

Dream nodded before rolling off of him, "Why're you fluffy?"

"Because," Hands brushed his hair off his face, "When I went to check on the little axolotl in the tub, I found you like this, dripping wet and wanting to cuddle."

He leaned into the touch and Techno happily provided before a knock came. It wasn't from a kid, it was too loud.

"Come in." Techno spoke, moving to put down his book on the bedside table.

The door opened to a frowning Wilbur.

"George sent managed to send a letter by one of Phil's crows." The bear gestured to the letter in his hand, "He says that we should get home, and in all capital letters, NOW."

"What does he want now?" Techno drawled.

"I don't know... something about..." Wilbur brought the paper up and squinted at it, "...a hedgehog?"

"Huh, weird." Dream mumbled before sitting up.

Both of them nodded in agreement.

"Well, we should be getting home anyway. Quackity hasn't asked us to really live here yet." Dream said, "And now that Sapnap's back with Karl, they probably want their house back."

Techno nodded, "Besides our home is by the river. We can just build the space we need."

The axolotl looked up at him and smiled.

Wilbur made a face and left to get the kids ready as the two of them finally got up. That's when Dream noticed that he was wearing different clothes, seeing his confused face, Techno walked over, resting his chin on top of Dream's head.

"Because you were soaking wet in your clothes, not as an axolotl."

The clothes were oversized on him and it took him a moment to realize why, a blush rose to his face as Techno let out a soft grunt before bending over more to nudge his cheek with his snout.

Dream giggled, gils perking up at the affection. He let out a chirp and leaned turned his head to plant a kiss on the snout.

"Let's get home." He said with a smile.

The night before, Techno wasn't expecting Dream in his human form to be in the tub when he checked on him. He was too clingy so he just grabbed some of his own clothes. When he finished dressing the sick axolotl, he suddenly felt two hands grab his face and felt wet hair touch his forehead.
