"It's a shame that you both must go. We will miss you two. I'll have someone carry the clothes I've gathered together for you. Oh hush Knight, don't cry."
"I'm sorry to go, when I return, I'll come straight over."
"Sounds delightful. Hear that my boy. You'll see us again."
"Excuse me Mister King."
"Yes little one?"
"I'm five!"
"Oh sorry, yes big kid."
"When I'm back, I want to have hair like mine."
"Do you mean for me to grow it out?"
"Yes Mister King."
"What a cheerful boy, I'll do just that. Come, may I get a hug?"
"Yes sir."
I was surprised to see Diamond bend over, and engulf Knight in his arms. They hugged for a moment, trading words only they knew of. Probably fighting back each others tears. I walked up to them and placed my hand on Knight's head.
"It's high time we depart. Your Highness."
"I will miss your presence my dear friend."
Diamond then pulled me into a hug, placing his lips against my ear.
"Don't take my son as nd daughter from me. Please don't do this."
"I must be off. I'm glad I could say goodbye. I love you all dearly."
"Here, I'll carry her things."
"Thank you Herald."
The three of us walked in silence and I felt the sudden erge to go to the garden and dance wildly amongst the flowers. However, Teatra had to take her leave. When we made it outside Knight ran to the carriage and hopped in without assistance, burying himself in the farthest corner. Herald began loading our things into the carriage and I stood silently by his side. When he'd finished, he grabbed me into a tight embrace and spun me around. Breathing into my hair.
"Don't go."
"Oh, Herald. I must. There are many things you do not know. And many things you wouldn't understand. I have to leave."
"I couldn't possibly love another. Having you by my side is enough to satisfy this need. But now you're leaving, and I feel like I shouldn't let you go."
"I'll write to you. Will that be okay?"
"But to see you..."
"You will again someday."
"May I kiss you?"
"Only once."
And instead of his usually stolen kiss on the lips, he kissed the tip of my fingers. He took of his chain with his royal emblem, and put it around my neck. He slowly helped me into the carriage, and quickly closed the door. He tapped the carriage twice and the ride began. When we reached the gates. I turned to look out the window and saw a delightful sight. Herald, Diamond, their father and mother blew rose petals my way. That carried on the wind.
I cried as Ethan carried my sleeping son into his father's house. I didn't care to go in and see my daughter, instead I immediately left. Watching the moon all the way. Trying my best not to break down. When I reached the palace, I hastily went to the tower. I sat at my table and tried to breath. Tried to breath the last bit of freedom in that I had.
