I looked down at Moon, who'd only opened her eyes twice the whole day. She was a quiet little fidgetty thing that clung to her brother. Not to her loving mother, but to her big brother. Just this morning I had to loosen her grip on his hair from the night before. She seemed to never want Knight to leave her side. And it was evident that Knight never did. He did everything near his baby sister.
"Knight. It's time to go to your daddy's wedding ball. You mustn't call him daddy though."
"I remember mommy. But where will Moon go?"
"Uncle Ethan is going to take care of Moon. Is that okay?"
"I don't just want to leave her mommy. Why can't she come?"
"Oh baby, it's hard enough bringing you. Now, come let me brush your hair and tie it up."
"Eww mommy. That's a girl bow."
"No my love. This bow is made of silk and golden lace. Ella made it for you, won't you wear it?"
"Only because it matches your pretty dress."
"Oh thank you my love. Now. Go put on your shoes. Ethan!"
"Yes Tempeste?"
"Give her this bottle and put her to sleep. I do not plan on staying long. Knight needs to sleep too. I hope to only be a couple hours. If not, there's fresh bread."
"Go on Lady Teatra."
"Thank you good sir."
I looked at myself one last time in the mirror and smiled wrong my golden frilled dress. It may as well have been my wedding with how I was dressed. I fear Elizabeth may have gone all out. It'll be a shame if I look more extravagant than the Queen to be. I grabbed Knights hand, and we headed towards the palace. I curtsied as I entered, and Knight bowed.
The heavy hum of the voices of different people was soothing. We were all awaiting Diamond and his wife Helena's arrival. I knew that the music would soon start, so i sat Knight down, and made him promise not to move. When the first dance started, Prince Edward walked briskly up to me.
"May I have this dance?"
"You may."
Prince Edward moved me onto the dancefloor and all the dancers gave us a circle of space. The features of Edward's face brought almost fond memories back to me. It was those eyes that wooed me in the first place. That smile that had once captured my heart, however, had lost it's power.
"You look extravagant. I must say, you put Lady Helena to shame. Her dress is nowhere near as grand. Did you purposely so this?"
"No, it seems my dress maker always goes all out. I never have a non-satisfactory purchase."
"I see. You dance amazingly."
"So do. When will you think they will arrive?"
"After this dance."
"Oh my. The dance appearance to be over. I must return to my date."
"And who may that be?"
"None other than the love of my life. My son. I will see you again tonight."
"Adieu my fair lady."
"Adieu."
I found Knight speaking to a pretty girl who was probably a year younger than me. She smiled up at me, complimented my son and dress, and turned her attention to the chime of wedding bells.
"Now entering the King. King Diamond Feadald James Earl the II. And his honorable wife Queen Wendall Rose Earl."
"Now entering our newly crowned King. King Diamond Feadald James Earl the III and his newlywedded wife Queen Helena Vivian Earl."
