Lunch
"San ka Liez?" Sigaw ni Anisha sa akin nang tumayo ako sa aking upuan.
"Sa cafe. Kakain lang. Nagugutom ako eh. Sama ka?" Inirapan niya ako.
Simula noong pumunta kami sa pool party di na siya nagpapalibre. I insist naman minsan but she's true to her words daw.
"I'll go on then." Wala kaming teacher ngayon,busy daw kaya nag iwan lang ng activities. Free time so gagawin lang yung mga performance tasks na binigay. Tapos ko naman na, now kakain na lang ako.
The wind made my hair slightly dance. Hindi ko na inayos dahil guguluhin pa rin naman ito ng hangin.
I was about to go pass by when I saw a handsome face laughing with his friends. Ang gwapo talaga ni Silas.
Hindi naman ako nagmamadali kaya umupo muna ako sa wooden bleachers sa gilid ng field. Sa ibabaw para wala masyadong lumalapit na players galing field. Narinig ko pa namang playboys halos lahat ng nasa varsity namin. Feeling ko naman, di naman ako lalapitan.
I placed myself comfortably.May araw pero hindi nakakapaso ang init at medyo mahangin din kaya inayos ko ang aking buhok na patuloy na isinasayaw ng hangin.
I was enjoying the view when the bleachers moved violently as someone went up. Grabe naman maka akyat to parang may galit sa mundo! Panira. Di ko na nilingon, I'm focusing on the view. This dude smells good tho.
Ilang sandali ding nakatayo ang lalaki sa gilid ko na hindi ko pinansin dahil baka humirit kahit pa napakabango nito. He's not climbing up not moving away.
"It's hot here. And it's class time. Why are you here?" I raised my head and squinted my eyes to look at the person . Natabunan ng katawan niya ang sinag ng araw kung kaya't nahirapan akong ma aninag ang mukha niya.
It's Eli!
"What are you doing here?" Nabigla kong tanong. Bigla bigla naman itong sumusulpot.
He furrowed his brows. Parang naiinis. Moody! "I'm the one asking. Why are you here? Mainit rito at may klase dapat kayo. Don't you?"
Paki ba nito.
"Eli! Bro. Long time no see!" Napa-lingon ako sa nagsalitang player. A tall but a thin guy down the bleachers is now waiting for Eli to come down. I glanced at Eli in front of me again.
"Oo. Napa daan lang ako." Tiningnan niya lang ang lalaki at walang plano na bumaba sa bleacher. He'll remain standing here?
"Ah! Sige. Laro muna ako." The guy then looked at me once with curiosity and question then left. Nasanay siguro iyong kinakausap ni Eli lagi pag nakikita.
Eli still stood looking at me like I have to give him something.
I rolled my eyes. "Free time namin, the teacher's not here. It's not hot at pwede ba it's windy out here. Nagpapahangin ako." There you have it. Go on now.
He stepped closer that made the bleachers move again. I can smell his manly scent very well this time.
"Young lady. I wish to believe your words but." He looked at me then at the field where the players are at, now playing.
"But what?" Matapang akong nagtanong pero medyo kinabahan ako. Hindi naman niya ata ako nakitang naglalaway kakatitig kay Silas. He wasn't here for long naman siguro.
"Did you have your lunch?" He stepped back again. He swiftly avoided the topic. Well, that's a twirl but to my advantage, ayoko mag stay sa topic na yun. Uncomfortable. Baka malaman niya pa ang paghanga ko kay Silas.
"I left at maybe 10 or something and sat here." I am now looking at the field avoiding his stares and his hawk gray eyes.
"It's effing 11:20 now lady! How many hours did you-" napatingin ako sa kanya habang nakataas ang kilay niya. Problema nito.
"Nevermind. 11 na mabuti pa't kumain ka na. Stand up." He said like its a law. Wala akong magawa kundi tumayo at sumunod. Naalala ko pano natakot lahat sa kaniya noong pool party e.
Pumasok kami ng cafe at umupo sa pinakagilid na upuan. Wala namang masayadong tao which is good. Wala ako sa mood makakita ng mga pakialamerang makiki chismis.
"Stop pouting. What do you want?" He stared at me pagka upo ko. Umupo din siya sa harap ko. Not bad. If he didn't force me to come here then I wouldn't be able to have my lunch. I came willingly though.
I sighed, "Adobo tas rice at iced tea." Kinuha ko wallet ko para makapunta sa counter at magbayad. Pero lumapit naman ang isang cafe staff sa amin.
Which is unusual because usually it's serve yourself here. Nagbago na ba?
"Adobo, rice at iced tea for her. I'll have sandwich and water please." Medyo kinabahan naman ang staff.
"Naku. Wala napo kaming iced tea but we have orange juice,mango juice and apple juice sir." Naiilang niyang sagot. Bakit ba siya kinakabahan. May available na juice naman pala.
"No iced tea?"Kalmadong tanong ni Eli. Napatingin ako sa kaniya. Although he's calm in asking, his aura is intimidating the staff!
"We can make one right now sir." Halos nagmamadlaing bawi naman nito. Hindi napapakali at gustong bumalik agad sa counter para yata makagawa ng iced tea.
"Miss, it's fine. Apple juice is also good." Lumingon ang babae sa akin at ibinalik kay Eli ang atensiyon na para bang hindi siya siguradong sundin ako.
"You sure? They can make one though." Parang tanga. Gagawa pa talaga sila para sakin?
"I like apple juice also." I smiled at the staff.
"Alright. Apple juice then miss." He instructed and the girl walked away.
I can't blame that girl. Eli appears scary the way he walks and his face just screams power. It makes you just follow him. But when he smiles especially in a flirty way he can easily melt anyone. He's gorgeous alright. Dangerously handsome.
"You have classes after lunch?" He asked after he gulped his glass of water. I was thinking of how he got a pitcher of cold water when the cafe only sells bottled ones. But I was more distracted of his Adams apple that sexily moved after taking the water.
"Anais." He called. I've never heard my name sound so good and sexy. What the hell.
"Oh?" Sinubo ko ang kanin nang napagtanto kong nakatitig ako sa leeg niya. Stupid Leiz!
"I was asking kung may klase ka pagkatapos ng lunch na ito?" He smirked as he asked me. Hiding his smile.
Iniwas ko ang mata ko at ibinalik Ito sa pagkain." Uh... Meron. Science namin."
"Good. You won't have time to fantasize about those thin bamboo looking boys." Napasinghap ako sa insulto niya. Did he just call Silas a kawayan?
"You're so mean!" Itinaas niya ang kilay niya sa akin.
"What?" Nag maang-maangan niyang tanong like he just didn't insult someone.
"You called Silas a bamboo?" Kumunot ang noo niya pagkatapos ko itong sabihin.
"Silas who? The tiny guy in the field? I didn't say it's him. So you did fantasize about him? I thought you don't like sweaty guys?"
Did I ever say I hated sweaty guys? I can't remember. We didn't talk much noon naman.
"Didn't you hate malansa?" He spatted with a hint of anger in his eyes when he noticed the confusion in me. My eyes widened.
Oh! Yeah! Now I remember.
"I didn't mean that!" Inirapan niya lamang ako.
"You did not even deny fantasizing- Finish your food. Your third period's about to start." Gusto ko sanang magpaliwanag pero tama nga siya at magsisimula na ang klase namin. Hahaba lamang ang bangayan namin kung di ako titigil.
I finished my food and forgot to pay dahil sa pagmamadali. Ihinatid niya naman ako sa aking silid na agad pinagkaguluhan ng mga senior sa labas lalaki man at babae. He's pretty popular sa mga senior even on juniors too.
He's not sociable but he got charms to lure people. He's intimidating but he got something that makes people itch to talk and approach him.
He's Eli. He doesn't need to do anything to make the world spin for him because the world will gladly spin for him.
