Prompt: "I just need to be alone right now."

If you were to ask for Shinsou's opinion of his boyfriend, he would say Denki was a brat. Yes, he was cute, with an adorable smile and the most wonderful laugh. He was funny, too. His stupid jokes and even more stupid actions always made shinsou chuckle. Denki was sweet; Shinsou remembered one time when Denki had attempted to make him coffee, but had somehow ended up with suspicious brown sludge.

Most importantly to Shinsou, Denki cared. Growing up, Shinsou hadn't had many people care about him. He had been shuffled around from foster home to foster home, before finally ending up with Mic and Aizawa. He's come to U.A., and suddenly everything had changed. He had people to talk to, he had friends. He had two amazing dads and the cutest little sister. Most importantly, he now had a boyfriend that loved him more than life itself.

That in itself wasn't a problem. Shinsou liked feeling loved, and he loved his boyfriend back. The problem was in the ways Denki showed his love. Denki always wanted to spend time with shinsou, to cuddle, to kiss, to watch a movie curled up together on the couch. Shinsou didn't necessarily have a problem with all that, but... He still wasn't quite used to it. He wanted time to be alone, or even time with his boyfriend that didn't result in physical touch. Shinsou didn't mind the physical touch, but sometimes Denki could be a lot.

'A lot' tended to be a good way to describe Denki. Shinsou, once, had said his boyfriend reminded him of pikachu, and entered his dorm the next day to find it filled with plushies of the pokemon. Denki was there too, in a pikachu onesie, smiling brilliantly. Shinsou had felt a little annoyed, but Denki was just so happy, so he hadn't said anything. Normally Denki's inherit 'a lot'-ness wasn't too much of an issue, but today was different. Shinsou hadn't gotten much sleep, almost failed a math test, and had been so caught up in thoughts he'd gotten tangled in the capture weapon. What he wanted was to go to his dorm, unwind on tumblr, and chill by himself for a few hours.

However, upon opening his door, he found a certain electric blond inside.

"Hey denki." He greeted, trying not to sound too tired.

"Hey Espresso Depresso! What's up?" Denki had been playing on Shinsou's switch, but jumped up when his boyfriend came in. Shinsou was instantly wrapped in a too tight hug, with a face full of blond hair in his eyes. The sounds of mario kart still blasted from the discarded console, making Shinsou feel even more agitated.

"Denki?" Shinsou asked tentatively. He didn't want to hurt his boyfriend's feelings; all he needed was some personal space.

"Yeah?" Denki murmured into his chest.

"I- Can you let go" Shinsou hated how his voice came out all snappy, and the concerned look in Denki's eyes as he pulled away.

"Is something wrong?" Denki asked, peering up at his boyfriend.

"No- well yes- I had a really bad day. I- I think I just need to be alone right now." Denki looked sheepish, as if he was suddenly aware of how clingy he'd been.

"Oh! Of course. I- I'm sorry if I was annoying you. I can go if you want." Shinsou nodded briefly, and the blond grabbed his things. "And Shinsou?" Denki asked as he opened the door. Shinsou looked up from where he'd flopped, with all the conviction of a dead whale, onto his bed.

"I love you, okay?" Denki said with a smile, before slipping out the door.

"I love you too" Shinsou muttered into the covers. His boyfriend might be a lot, but Denki knew when to slow down. And even if Denki was a bit of a brat, Shinsou wouldn't change him for the world.
