A few months later, they were on red bull's private jet, heading to Monaco, she smiled as she wore her Verstappen hoodie with the hood pulled up over her head and along with leggings and her trainers, she couldn't help but smile as Max laughed as they drove from the jet to this apartment, once they had landed. She couldn't help but smile as the wind blew through her hair, that was hanging loose from her hoodie, she looked at him, as she smiled.
"This is going to be the best weekend of my life." She spoke softly as she kissed his cheek once he pulled up in front of his apartment, they headed inside. Cassie took the hoodie off, her hair cascading down her back, wind tousled as she smiled as she headed onto the balcony to see the view, "It's beautiful here." She muttered as he wrapped his arms around her from behind, she couldn't help but rest her head against his chest as she took in the view. "Are we going to watch the sunset?" She asked as Max nodded, "Yeah, there's a little dock not far from here, and its got sand and I figured we could watch it there." He spoke as she hummed in agreement, once they got back to the UK though, she would be back in her own bed, she had decided she was going to go on her own terms, and it wouldn't be in a hospital.
"I love you Max." She spoke looking at him, as he smiled as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, "I love you too Cass." He spoke as he kissed her head, he didn't know what the future would bring, but he knew that it would be the best of their lives, and he would make memories to cherish with her.
Cassie and Max arrived at the place, he spoke of, she smiled as he wrapped a thin blanket around her, since the breeze had picked up. He couldn't help but think she looked perfect, he sat behind her, holding her to him as she leaned into his chest, she smiled as the sun slowly went down as she smiled softly, she knew this would be the final sunset, and it was only March, he had just begun prepping for the 2017 season, but he would always make time for her, no matter what.
"The sunset and the sunrise, is me, saying good morning and good night to you and to my family, everytime you see the sunset, just think of me." She spoke softly as Max stiffened as he pressed his lips to her hair as he held her, she could feel herself slowly giving up, but she wanted to remember this, it would be the last memory she had with him, and she wanted to make it a good one for him.
She looked at him as she tilted her head back, "Let's go in the water, just feel it on our skin, make this last a minute longer." She spoke as he nodded as he stood up and helped her up, before they headed to the water, as they let the waves lap at their feet, as she rested her head on his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. She felt her legs give before he steadied her, "Whoa, you okay Cass?" He asked her as she nodded her head, "Yeah I'm okay, my legs just felt like jelly then." She spoke, before laughing when he picked her up bridal style and carried her back to where they were sitting, he grabbed her blanket wrapping it around her before carrying her back to his apartment, it wasn't a long walk.
He gently laid her down on his bed as he kissed her head, he knew once they got back to the UK she would be getting worse, but he intended to remain by her side, she was the love of his life, and he was hers, and they would be that epic love that you read about in books and watched in movies.
"I have something I need to ask, I know we've only been together for 8 months, but I can't imagine us having unfinished business, and I can't imagine anyone else for me to spend my life with." He paused before he looked at her as he pulled out the ring as he moved onto one knee, "Cassidy Jade Halliwell-Horner, will you do me the greatest honour and say yes to marrying me?" Max asked looking at her as she nodded her head smiling, "Yes, Yes I will marry you." She spoke before she leaned in kissing him before he slid the ring on her finger.
They were going to get married as soon as they could, even if it was only them, her parents and a priest, just so long as they were man and wife.
