(Note: this is it guys, we have this chapter which is the chapter where she ends up in hospital, then we have a second chapter after this one WHICH will be THE chapter and we say goodbye to Cassie, don't worry, this story won't end there, and then we focus on how everyone moves on, particularly Cassie's best friend Clarissa or Clary, she loses her person in the next chapter, I hope you guys enjoy, you WILL need tissues, cause this is the chapter that will break everyone, this chapter and the next one.)

It was a few hours later and the wedding reception was still going and Cassie had excused herself to the bathroom, as she had felt herself getting dizzy, once inside, she looked in the mirror and felt blood trickling down her nose, before she collapsed, thankfully, Max had followed her, concerned when she suddenly left, before he rang for an ambulance.

Once they were at the hospital, Max remained by her side, even when Geri came and changed her into her pj's he didn't leave, just climbed in the bed next to Cassie and held her as she slept, the doctors didn't say anything, knowing what had transpired between the young couple as they continuously came through and looked at her vitals, before they did her treatment in her room, as Max remained close to her side.

The days passed quickly, until she got even more sick, Cassie groaned as she looked at Max, who simply smiled and brushed her hair from her face, she had contracted a fever during the night and it was kicking her ass, add the treatment she was having and she felt like she had been run over by an F1 car a thousand times over. "You still look beautiful to me Cass." He spoke softly, as she shook her head as she took a sip of her water.

"You're meant to say that, you're my husband." She spoke, trying to joke as Max shook his head, smiling as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, he had told Christian he didn't want to leave Cassie's side, even Jos agreed with Max, that Cassie needed him more. Cassie, however, wanted him to go to the first race of the season, but he didn't, she had gotten worse through the night and he refused to be in a different country whilst she was sick.

Max shook his head as he kissed her head, smiling as she leaned into him, when her doctor walked in, Dr. Wells, had been treating Cassie ever since she had first been diagnosed. "I hear congratulations are in order, and Cassie, we have the results of your tests, the good news is, they aren't getting bigger, but they aren't shrinking either, the bad news is, your brain is now contracting, a result of the Xeroderma Pigmentosum, now we knew this would happen, so we can either keep you here for end of life care or-" He was cut off by Cassie shaking her head, "No, I want to go home, be in my own bed, I just want to have my family around me, and my husband holding me as I watch my favourite films and make last memories." She spoke as he nodded his head. "It's your decision Cassie, it's your time to spend." He spoke as he went and got the papers.

Once they were back home, Cassie smiled as she wrapped her blanket around her shoulders as she sat on the porch, before she looked at Geri who had come out to join her as Max and Christian were sorting the kids out, knowing that Geri wanted to spend some time with Cassie.

"Hey mum." She whispered as Geri smiled kissing her head, before she wrapped her arm around her shoulders, pulling her into her chest as Cassie smiled as she linked her pinkie finger with her mum's something they had always done.

never mind the pain or the aggravation

"You have been so brave baby, fighting this for so long, and I know it hurts you, but you have been so incredibly strong, and we'll be okay, when you go we'll be okay, you know that don't you?" Geri asked as Cassie nodded her head as she smiled, "I know mum, and you'll look after Clary and Max, especially Clary, she's my person, and make sure Max isn't reckless on the race track, I can't let him lose his mind because of me." She spoke softly as Geri nodded her head.
