Third-person pov

After the mess that was breakfast, everyone decided not to question Taehyung, thinking it would be better to talk to him when he has calmed down. The three decided to go out on their date, which consisted of a calm walk through the neighbourhood before seeing a movie in the local theatre at lunchtime.

They dressed on their casual spring-wear and walked down the quiet street, hands discretely being held tightly. They had some miscellaneous conversations, laughing along as they basked in each other's company. It got to a point where Jimin and Hobi were balling their eyes out in laughter after Yoongi befriended a local cat - making fun of his grumpy behaviour after they called him cat-related pet names.

"Oh common Kitten, we know you like being cat-called," Hobi said, Jimin bursting out another breath of laughter. "You're turning into Jin Hyung," he snarled as he threw his arm around Hobi's shoulder.  "Please kitty? be a good boy! Don't walk away from us!" Jimin continued when he saw Yoongi quickly walking away, muttering 'I don't know them' as he speed-walked. He couldn't fight the blush and little smile that was playing on his lips when he heard his boyfriend's calling him.

"Come on babe! Let's go get a snack, I'm hungry," Jimin pouted cheekily. "Idiot, you're always hungry!" Yoongi yelled as he walked back to the boys, wrapping his arm around Hobi's waist. "Ahh, what a nice morning," Hobi breathed out, breathing in the early morning air. Jimin and Yoongi smirked at each other and grabbed Hobi's ass, squeezing it tightly. "H-hey, stop!" He said as he wiggled breathlessly.

"I love you guys," Yoongi chuckled out happily, his gummy smile making its rare appearance. "Love you t-" Before the other's could react they heard the sound of someone chuckling, a figure perched against the brick wall in a side alley. He let out a sigh, "So I was right," he whispered, now looking up to face the three startled boys. His red hair was messy, his facial features slightly sunken in as if he hadn't slept in days.

"Jesus Jack, the fuck happened to you," Hobi asked slightly concerned. Said boy just hummed quietly, "You know, I envy you, having the balls to walk around the neighbourhood of a homophobic town. Laughing, holding hands, touching each other like lover's do," he stated with somewhat sad eyes. He snapped out of his thoughts and looked up at the three boys who were slightly scared of what Jack was planning to do.

"If," he hesitated. "If you think I'm going to out you, I won't." He said with a little sad smile. They looked at him as if he was saying something stupid. "Why the fuck are you being nice to us," Yoongi stated dryly, piercing his eyes into his blue ones. "I can't imagine what that man would do to his son if he found out. Actually, scratch that, I do know what he would do," he said quietly. They looked at him confused. "Taehyung, I'm talking about his father and how fucked up he is." He said darkly.

"I hate you all because I want what you have, but I don't hate you enough to hurt that boy." He finished, ashamed. "If Kim found out his son's friends were all gay, the things he would do to that boy would be enough to send him to hell," he sneered angrily. "What do you mean?" Jimin asked, scared about his friend. Jack chuckled, "Kim has quite the seminar rooms behind the main church, ever seen them?" The boys shook their heads, concerned.

"I'm not surprised, only people with confessions go there. That area is locked off from the public anyways. But that isn't the most alarming thing." He started, little tears beginning to fall from his face. "There is a little room, down a flight of stairs near the emergency exit. I've never been in there, thankfully. But the sounds that come from it are, heartbreaking, to say the least," he spoke as water trickled down his face.

"Did Tae ever tell you?" he continued, "He was always so afraid of enclosed spaces, figured that out when I closed him in his closet when we were playing hide and seek with the others," he chuckled, remembering the memory. "Hated the dark too, he could never see if there was something that could hurt him," he whispered quietly. "More like someone," he said darkly. "That cunt used his fears as a way of getting him to obey him, to submit to him. To make him listen. It's disgusting how fucked up that man is," he finished, sniffing.

The three stood with open mouths, looking at each other as their eyes glossed over with tears. "Before you all came he was my friend, you could say brother. He was like my little brother," he sniffed quietly. "Then his dad thought that we were sinners, and forced him to stay away from us," he cried silently, shaking his head. "I wasn't e-even supposed to of heard what I did, I was merely helping the cleaning staff pack their equipment when I heard the most agonising screams," he said, looking the three in the eyes.

"He was in pain because of me, and I know that he was put in pain because of your friends, and now, the newbie." He looked at them all deeply, "After continuously hearing his pleading voice to just, let him out," he whimpered. "I can't do anything but warn you all to not be so obvious, how you act causes him more trauma. H-he's, been through enough." he sniffed.

Jack then stood up and walked towards the three, who looked at each other worriedly. "P-please just, take care of him. For me," he said with a little smile. As he was beginning to walk away, the four turned at the call of Jack's name. "Hyungie!" A small voice cried loudly, panting towards the said boy, "Jonghyun! What happened," he said scaredly quickly running to his little brother. The little boy whimpered, "M-mummy said that she hates daddy! She slapped me when I told her that he didn't do anything. I'm scared Hyungie," the little boy whimpered.

Jack felt his world crumble, hearing those words from his little brother's mouth, did nothing but remind him of his old friend, who said the same thing, only he didn't get away so easily. He scooped his brother up in a tight hug, holding his head to his chest, comforting him. "Let's go to Minji's house hmm? Go play with Tommy and his sister?" He said, smiling at the thought of living at his friend's peaceful atmosphere of a house. "We can even watch movies with the Ji's, how about that?" He asked softly, the little boy nodded in answer.

"Please, just. Take care of him," Jack finished as he walked away, holding his brother close to his chest.

Jimin pov

I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I never figured that Jack and Tae were friends in the past, he was just always such a bitter character. After his warning to keep our relationship in secret, I thought about the times Taehyung was beaten, and forced to face his own demons, alone. To think that such a selfless boy has suffered endless tears when we were happy in our lover's embrace.

We all took deep breaths, trying to fathom what Kim has done; clearly, enough to land him in jail. We all rushed back to the house, and to our surprise, Taehyung was cuddled up to Jungkook's shoulder, they both too focused on the movie to acknowledge our presence. Seeing his scared eyes each time an action scene came on or when a character died; Makes me think that that is what he looks like when he faces his father.

I felt awful, calling myself his friend yet I didn't even know his biggest fears, nor did I know just how bad his father was. I was guilty. I saw how Jungkook comforted him, gently rubbing his waist, tucking his head into the boy's embrace. They looked so peaceful and domestic, it was heartwarming.

We need to talk to everyone about this, I can't stand the thought of him having to face that situation once his father comes back. I know what happens now, and I won't fail him a second time.
