3 months later

Third-person pov

Taehyung's burns had almost completely healed, the trail of scars the only evidence of the fire that changed his life. Since he was let out of the hospital, he continued with his physical therapy once a week, and also abided by his hyung's advice to see a therapist for his trauma - which helped him greatly. He was diagnosed with PTSD around fire and yelling and also became a victim of claustrophobia. Which was expected after his history with enclosed spaces.

He and Jungkook had become incredibly dependant on each other, sure they had their arguments and moments away from each other. But it only strengthened their bond, soon realising how much they needed each other. they had been together for quite a few months now, only with a label for the recent months - not that it bothered them. They were going at their own pace. They began kissing more frequently, but it never went further. Which they both were fine with.

Taehyung was currently working at his job in the cafe, he was finishing off the latte for their last customer for the afternoon, before the bell chimed and a group of people came in, standing at the register waiting impatiently to be served. It wasn't even 2 minutes before they began shouting, "Oi! Can you hurry up? Excuse me!" Taehyung looked up scared. He hated being yelled at. "O-of course, just give me a sec-" "Hurry up! IT"S NOT THAT HARD!" One of the girls yelled, slamming her hand down on the counter. Taehyung's eyes got watery as he stumbled backwards.

The group began laughing at his pathetic reaction, "Dumbass," they snickered. Taehyung just shook his head, trying to calm down. As he stood in front of them, he began taking their order. Today he was wearing his favourite purple t-shirt, which meant that his arms could be easily seen. Also considering his burn vest was removed a little over 2 weeks ago, so his arms were still a bit tender and easily bruisable.

As the group finished ordering, they noticed his arms and grimaced. "What the fuck happened to your arms! Jesus, it's like fucking melted! Dude look-" One of the guys yelled, pointing to Taehyubg's arms. Little tears began gathering in his waterline, "Oh! Wait! You're that dumbass that locked himself in the church! What a pathetic little child" The girls snickered. Taehyung shook his head, that's not what happened. He knows damn well that it wasn't his fault.

They snickered as they threw cash at the boy, saying that they were going to eat inside. Taehyung just hoped they would leave him alone. Sadly, his wish was not granted. They ordered a shit ton of coffee and hot chocolates with a shit ton of sugar and vanilla syrup - like honestly, how is that even edible. It took a considerable amount of time, but Taehyung was rather fast to get the order finished, mentally patting himself on the back. He grabbed a few plates for the apple danishes and peach cobbler that the group ordered, stacking them on the serving tray.

As he walked over to their table, they all snickered bitterly, "Fucking finally. How do you even have a job here if you're so fucking slow at making shit." They spat irritatingly. Taehyung knew they were overreacting and being the pretentious assholes that they were 10 minutes ago. As he placed the food and drinks down he informed them that the other food would be out soon, but before he could walk away he was halted. The hazy smell of smoke was slowly wafting into his nose, his heart rate quickly picking up at the thought of fire.

"Oi, idiot. My coffee is cold," one of the guys yelled, "yeah mine too!"A girl followed. Taehyung turned around to take the cups and make some new drinks, but was stopped. "Do you reckon it's cold?" They both said in unison, with smirks that he knew all too well. The scream he let out was ghastly, he dropped his serving tray and fell to the floor, screaming louder and louder. The two had thrown their drinks at him, the scalding hot liquid sliding down his arms and soaking into his thin shirt. Taehyung began sobbing even louder, he couldn't move as he could feel that same burning sensation travelling up his arms, paralysing him almost instantly.

"HEY! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!" Jin yelled as he came running out of the kitchen door, phone in hand to the hospital. The group quickly fled out the doors, but luckily the security footage caught all of their faces - they'd be visiting the police pretty soon. Jin was sure of it. "Tae, shit," Jin yelped as he saw the poor boy shaking, knealing on the floor, clearly uncomfortable. "Breathe in and out Tae, can you hear me? Breathe tae," Jin spoke calmly, squatting in front of him.

He knew he couldn't touch the poor boy to calm him down, so he just waited for the ambulance to arrive. Taehyung grounded himself on Jin's voice, his heart rate decreasing, "That's right, just breathe, you will be okay." Jin said gently. Soon the ambulance took Taehyung to the hospital, keeping him there for a few hours to help treat the burns and to calm the poor boy down. After around 4 hours, Taehyung was discharged, his arms no longer burning uncontrollably.

As they reached home, he was engulfed by the other boys, as they sobbed on him. "Are you okay!" they all said brokenly, Jungkook holding his face close to his, seeing his eyes fall. "You are safe here baby, we got you," he whispered soothingly. Taehyung nodded his head, thanking his lucky stars to have such caring people around him. He hugged Jungkook tightly, forgetting about the slight sting in his arms. "I love you," he whispered gratefully. "I love you, baby," Jungkook answered almost at lightning speed.

Taehyung and Jungkook were huddled in their shared bedroom, Jungkook was about to get up to go help Taehyung shower, the latter groaning in response. "Just a little longer. Just hold me please, hold me tighter," he whispered. Jungkook complied, pressing a loving kiss to his forehead as he pulled the boy closer to his chest.
