CHAPTER 38.

BELLA'S POV

I woke up the next day with swollen eyes because of the tears. I didn't feel like going to school but I had my exams awaiting me and I wasn't going to flunk any of my papers because of a guy.

I went to the bathroom and did my usual routine, I just dressed very casually and did a little makeup on my face to hide the swollen parts of my eyes.

I got to the dining table, my family was already having breakfast. They were all looking at me with a sympathetic look which I hated.

  " Good morning mum, Good morning dad. " I greeted as I sat beside my brother.

  " Good morning dear, how was your night? " they asked.

  " Fine. Morning Jason. "

  " Morning little sis. " he responded.

  " About yesterday, ... " My dad started

  " Dad please, I don't want to talk about it now. " I said.

  " Okay, as you wish. Have you got with you all your necessary exam materials? " My dad asked

  " Yes. "

The rest of the breakfast was eaten in silence. When we were done eating, my brother and I set out for school.

  " Bella? "

  " Yes, mum. "

  " Are you sure you are going to be fine or do you wish to stay at home? I can call the Principal to... "

  " Am fine mum. You don't need to, I can take care of myself. " I tried to put on a fake smile but I was terrible at doing such.

  " Take care of yourself and Jason this time don't disappoint us. You've not been able... "

  " Mum, it is not time to assign blame to anyone. We are late already. " I pulled Jason along with me, we entered into his car and we zoomed off.

  " Thank you for helping me out there, they have been blaming me because of the recent happening. I am sorry that I failed to protect you as a brother, I am truly sorry. " he apologized.

  " It's okay Jason, I understand. What is done is done, nothing can be reversed " I said.

  " So, what is your next step? " he asked.

  " Am yet to make one but I will soon. " I answered, " When am going to make the decision, this mate bond is not going to mean a thing to me and that is very sure. " I added and he just sighed heavily as he parked the car.

I hugged him and walked in, some of the students I guessed to be wolves as well were staring at me, I knew the news must have spread across their so-called pack but I pretended not to notice their unusual stare.

I went to the female bathroom first not because I was shy or embarrassed but because I did not know what to do or say if I came in face with Taylor. I bent down to wash my face when I heard Linda's voice behind me.

  " Not being able to keep the emotion within right? " She asked and I looked at her through the mirror only to see her mocking face.
