CHAPTER 56.

THIRD-PERSON POV.

Preparations were going on for Taylor's birthday. People moving up and down, doing stuff, some standing in two or three discussing. Lizzie directed some group of people to a section of the building while Emily greeted the guests.

Martha and Jethro signaled to each other. They went to a silent place.

  " Is everything done yet? " Martha asked.

  " Yes, Granny. Let's hope that she comes. " Jethro said with enthusiasm.

  " Why? Didn't you persuade her? " She asked.

  " Of course, I did persuade her but she didn't look like she is interested. " Jethro replied.

  " Alright, keep watch and I will do the same. It's now or never. " They both shake each other's hands and depart.

Emily who had been eavesdropping on their conversation suddenly placed her hand under her chin and stroked it gently as if she had a beard.

  " I wonder what these two are up to? Who have they invited? " She wondered.

Inside a room, Taylor laid down on the bed shirtless and his two friends sat opposite him.

  " Do I have to do this? " He asked.

  " Yeah, dude. I mean, it's your birthday. " Jeff answered.

  " Who doesn't love his or her birthday? " Eden asked.

  " This guy. " Taylor pointed at himself.

  " Come on Taylor, this isn't bad at all. "

  " Do you know what I think, what I feel when it is this time of the year? I remember that one night I made Bella cry, that one night I couldn't restrain my wolf from meeting his mate but it all ended disastrously. "

Eden looked at Jeff before sitting next to his friend on the bed and gave him a gentle massage to make his nervous and unhappy feelings subside.

  " We all know what you are feeling Taylor but you should be hopeful. Do you think If Bella were to be present she won't give you a lecture about it? Just do this for Bella's sake. " Eden persuaded.

  " I ain't promising that but let's head downstairs. " Taylor stood up and put on his shirt.

Jethro kept looking at the entrance in case Bella arrives, he would be the first one to greet her. Genevieve who was talking to her friends sighted Jethro in an anxious state, she excused herself to go and meet him. She poked him from behind and Jethro turned slightly.

On seeing who it was, he frowned but continued watching the entrance.

  " Who or what are you looking at for? Your girlfriend? " Gene teased and Jethro looked at her frowning deeply

  " Are you getting jealous? " He asked.

  " Jealous? That's the last thing I would resort to. " Gene said with pride and flipped her short hair backward. When she saw that Jethro was staring at her, she became conscious of herself.

  " Why are you staring at me like that? " She asked.

  " I wonder why you behave like you are an adult when you are just a kid. " Jethro said and it was Genevieve's turn to frown.

  " What do you mean by just a kid? If I am a kid then what are you? "

Jethro put his hands into his pocket in a stylish manner before smiling at her.

  " I am a hot guy. " He winked at her then left.

Genevieve was furious and stomped away while Jethro inwardly thanked his stars for that quick narrow escape. He saw his dad mount down the stairs and he sighed softly, " Miss Bella, where are you? "
