Armando sat awkwardly, looking off to the side to avoid eye contact with the strange group of people who had dragged him from his locker only minutes before. Now, he sat in a makeshift recording study in the basement of his technical high school, three people sitting before him. One had a neon green mohawk, a pastel pink skirt and a hot pink halter top under a black harness. She looked welcoming to him, like she didn't want to hurt him. The one on the far left was tall, far taller than everyone else, even while sitting. They had the hood on their blue and white hoodie up and the shadow shrouded their eyes, a little tuft of white hair sticking out a bit. The one in the middle looked...well he looked like he was going to kill someone. He held himself with such pride, his crooked nose turned up a bit in an expression of superiority. His bleached hair was fading, brown roots becoming visible. He held a small gap on the side of his mouth like he was used to holding something there.
"So...you guys kinda fuckin' kidnapped me. Do I get an explanation or what?" Armando finally spoke, trying his hardest to seem unfazed. It didn't work very well, the man sitting in the middle noticing a small waver in his voice.
"Kid, we're not here to hurt you. We just wanna talk to you." the girl with the green hair said softly, giving a little smile as she extended her hand for him to shake. "I'm Annie. You're Armando right? Just moved here?" Armando slowly took her hand and shook it, unnerved by the group and how they knew him but nodding at her questions none the less. "Great, awesome."
"So who are you...?"
"Your worst fucking nightmare." the boy in the middle said, smirking and leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. Armando leaned back, away from him. The boy laughed and leaned back again. "Hex. My name is Hex. I'm not gonna hurt you." he took a slight pause "Much." Armando nodded slightly, looking Hex up and down. He then pointed at the person at the far end of the room.
"Now it's just y-"
"Bonez." they said in a deep voice that sounded like it was coming from multiple directions. Armando shuddered and nodded, looking the group over.
"Yeah...that's Bonez, our bassist. They don't like to speak much. They're actually the one who found you." Annie said, looking over at Bonez and giving them a thumbs up.
"Found me? Bassist? Are you...are you a band...?" Armando said, raising an eyebrow and running his fingers through his hair before shaking his head, making his hair bounce back into place.
"Not quite. You see kid, a band needs a drummer." hex said, speaking to Armando as though he were a small child. "And we don't have that, so no, no band." Annie reached over and grabbed Hex's hair, pushing his head down.
"He's a salty fucker, isn't he?" Armando said softly, looking at Annie who just smiled and let go of Hex. Hex let out a soft grunt and stayed quiet, staring down and rubbing the back of his head.
"He's not always like this. Just having a shitty day. But onto the point. This is gonna sound really fucking sudden and strange but we want you to try and be our drummer, at least for a little while. According to Bonez, you understand to parts of a drum set and how they;re supposed to sound and how they can go together."
"Well...yeah, I guess so..I've wanted a drum set since I was a kid..Wait have they been fucking stalking me?!" Armando shot up from his seat, looking at Annie. Annie calmly stood up, standing just as tall as him in her platform boots.
"Armando, they didn't go looking for you. You have a few classes with them and they just noticed it. They notified me and we've been keeping an eye on it ever since. You're allowed to decline the offer and if you're not sure, you can have a while to think about it." Annie spoke softly to him. Armando looked around for a bit, sighing softly and rolling his eyes.
"What do I fucking have to lose.."
