The group all got together at Annie's house again, each one dressed as something. Annie wore a forest green dress that was torn at the hem, two plastic antlers on her head band. She had green eye shadow on and her nails were painted black. Bonez wore a white sheet with two eye holes cut out and colourful patches taken from flannel shirts sewn onto it. Armando wasn't in anything too Halloween-ish, wearing a white dress shirt with the first two buttons undone, wearing torn up black jeans as apposed to dress pants. Hex wasn't wearing a costume, looking more tired than usual, a bloody bandage on his upper lip. Armando jumped up onto the kitchen counter and sat there, sipping water from a cup. Annie leaned on the counter beside him, watching Bonez try and pick Hex up only to be swatted away and growled at.
"He's bitchier than normal. Is he like...okay?" Armando spoke softly, looking over at Annie. She shrugged.
"Bonez would know. They're the only one Hex will honestly confide in." Annie said into her cup, not looking up. Armando nodded slightly and the group talked awkwardly for a while before deciding to play board games, something that immediately made something click in Hex. The group was halfway through a game of Monopoly, Hex sitting in Bonez's lap and being cruel and bitter to Armando.
"Wow, you're fucking terrible at this, it's almost amusing if it wasn't so fucking pathetic. I mean, it's a game kids can play and you can barely manage to avoid everything." Hex laughed, giving an evil smirk to Armando. Armando glared up at him and let out a soft growl.
"Hex. Watch it. Not another fucking word from you." Annie used a firm voice, something that usually shut Hex up. Instead, he stood.
"Oh or what, shrimp? What the fuck are you gonna do if I don't stop? What even can you do? Last I checked, I've got a good 5 inches on you and you struggle to carry an amp!" Hex laughed loudly and glared down at her. Annie was slightly shocked, tearing up at the insult to her height. Bonez began to visibly panic and ran out of the room, curling up on the floor in the guest room.
"Hex..you better fucking apologise right this fucking minute.." Armando looked between the two of them, slowly backing away. Annie's voice shook slightly and she looked more angry than he'd ever seen her. Hex grinned.
"Look bitch I could sit here all day and just watch you try so fucking hard to be scary but deep down, you're just a weak, pathetic little girl." He watched Annie's eyes grow wide as she began to silently cry. "Fucking pathetic bitch."
"Hey, listen Hex. I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but you can't say that shit to her. She's the nicest person I know so maybe you should back off." Armando said, jumping to his feet. Hex smirked and wiped a little blood from his mouth that trickled through the bandage.
"Look who finally grew a pair. What are you gonna do about it?" Hex stood over Armando, making himself look bigger. He planted a finger on Armando's chest. "You are a lazy, weak, arrogant little fa-" Hex was cut off by a harsh strike across the face. His hands went to his lip, letting out a small scream.
"Who the HELL do you think you fucking are!?" Hex shoved Armando back, Annie grabbing Hex's sleeve and begging for him to stop. More blood began to show on his bandage and he tore it off, revealing an ugly, jagged cut going up through his lip, exposing his teeth underneath. Annie and Armando froze in place, watching Hex bare his teeth in anger and pain. "Don't you fucking dare touch me kid or you'll get a scar just like this for yourself." With that, Hex left the house and walked down the street in the harsh autumn night air.
