"Are you sure it's okay for me to come over and watch you guys practice...? I don't want to be a bother.." Everett spoke softly, biting his nails and looking at Armando.
"I'm sure babe, it's all gonna be okay. We can get a bit loud so you should wear headphones, okay? You're okay." Armando sat Everett down on the couch, going over to his drum set and sitting down. "Annie, you ready?" Annie nodded. Hex slouched over the keyboard. He glared at Everett and looked over a Bonez, who was plugging in his bass.
"Kiss Me Until My Lips Fall Off cover, okay? We haven't done it in a while and I want to see if we can still play it." Annie spoke softly to the group, giving the wonder struck Everett a small smile. "Honey, it's gonna get a bit loud in here. Bonez, the tall one, he's gonna sing with me. Put on your headphones and it'll all be okay." Everett nodded and slipped on the headphones as the group began to play.
Annie sang in accompaniment with the bass, Bonez's voice backing hers. Everett watched in wonder, not noticing small mistakes in the music or the voice cracks, entranced by the sound. Hex played, swaying in place, his eyes closed sometimes. Annie danced in place in a mesmerizing fashion, her arms slowly waving in the air above her head and beside her. The song finished all too quickly for Everett, who had taken off his headphones.
"Well honey, what do you think? Aren't we good?"
"You're all so...pretty sounding..." Everett squeaked out, looking at them in awe. "He plays piano...I do too...I've never heard piano played like that before..."
"It's a keyboard sweetheart, it has all these cool sounds it can make!" Annie smiled at Everett, making him grin. "It's so much fun, I wish I could play!"
Everett listened to them practice for hours, falling asleep on the couch to one of their slower songs. The group finished up and Annie gently woke Everett up, Armando walking him home.
