Dinner had passed quicker than expected but I didn't mind that. My nerves were rattled for another reason entirely.

It was now a little past curfew, and I am laying in my bed.

Who knew just laying in bed could be so nerve-wracking? I mean, you are just laying there with yourself.

Were my demons pounding on the door? I couldn't hear them. Were they already swarming me while I wait patiently for others to fall asleep?

God damnit!

I sat up in bed, feeling a little bit paranoid. The green cloak around my shoulders shifts with me as I move. It was like a comfort blanket that stayed on you.

Is everyone asleep? Can I leave now? If we get caught how will I cover us? We have an expedition in less than a month, and I was going to break rules.

Not to mention, with a man I hardly knew. What kind of attention would that raise?

I got to my feet and walked to my door. My footsteps were silent and quick. It was now or never. The cold night air bit my skin as I entered the hallway.

The only heat you got here was from the sun, fights, blankets, another person, and intercourse.

It was common for some soldiers to fall into the last category due to the lack of time and touch.

I didn't need romance or physical touch in that sense.

All I needed was a hug and a few minutes of pure and simple cuddling. There was no need for more.

Thing is, no one wants an unlucky girl for a lover of any sort. Couldn't blame them on that one. I was not the best looking here, or anywhere for that matter.

So, love wasn't really on the list. That's the cold, hard truth.

I snuck out of the building and silently jogged to the stables. Levi wasn't here yet, but I wasn't too worried. After all, he wanted to do this in the first place.

The cold wind lashed at my cheeks and nose aggressively as I put the saddle on Galileo and made sure it was on properly before sitting on a hay bale to wait.

Soft footsteps caught my ears making me crouch down behind the wall.

"Brat, I know it's you. We are clear." Levi's rough tone eased my tension, allowing for my legs to push upwards.

His attire consisted of the whole military uniform. That was a good thing. The cloak would help us blend into the night.

"Okay, saddle up, put your hood on, and then ride as fast as you can towards the inner gate. We need to get to Sina, and then into your previous nightmare without too much suspicion." I told him gently. Silvery blue eyes bore into my back as I unlocked Galileo's pen and hopped into his back.

"You really are serious about helping. I would have gone regardless." He snapped coldly. My eyes rolled and I looked at the male across the way from me.

"Then you wouldn't have had a scapegoat. Let's go, we're waisting time. You better not escape." I teased slightly baring a small smirk on my lips.

"Tch, you're an idiot. Like I'd ever want to stay there."

Levi clicked his tongue and rode his horse out of the stables and I followed him.

Once free of the building we pulled our hoods over our heads and urged our horses into a trot until we were far away from the Scout's headquarters.
