"Quite a big guy, isn't he?" Levi asked as I approached the group.
"Yep!" I shot back in annoyance. Then, the abnormal started running again.
"Damn it! It's started running again!" Flagon's voice echoed on the field from a few yards beside us, and a few feet from the titan. "Sairam, follow me!" He demanded.
"Yes, Sir!" Sairam replied, flanking his Captain instantly.
A small click from beside me drew my attention. It followed the ebony haired male as he rode to intercept his higher ranking soldiers.
"You little punk..." Flagon started with a dark, questioning glare.
Sairam looked at Levi with a condescending glare and opened his mouth.
"What're you doing?!"
Their judgement was placed in the wrong areas. If only they could look at themselves.
"You said I shouldn't underestimate the titans, right? Then why use these half-assed tactics to fight them?" Levi said with a blank stare in their direction. I gained ground with Farlan and Isabel behind me.
He was right in a way. Up to this point, our combat against the titans has been simple minded. If we were to survive, we would need to think harder.
"Levi! Think carefully and thoroughly! Don't hesitate!" My heart rattled in my chest as Levi beckoned Isabel and Farlan to his side.
Then they were off, getting closer to the threat.
"If I had known this was gonna to happen, I'd still be back there drinking sewer water!" Farlan whined nervously. I could see his concern from a few feet away. He didn't think they were capable.
"Farlan! Shut up and get Ready!" Isabel cried out. She was completely serious, unlike her natural cheery self.
"H-Hey! You're still rookies!" Flagon shouted, clearly disliking the lack of control.
I kicked Galileo gently and he picked up the speed with a small snort of annoyance. I would too if I was being pushed into my top speed.
Levi and the duo accompanying him brushed his comment off like it was a speck of dirt on their shoulder. It didn't phase them.
"You stay out of this, Brat. I've run out of patience for you people." Levi spoke to me harshly. It was like we were back to square one again. He held malice and hatred in his tone. For some reason, it hurt, and I couldn't figure out the reason why.
My father said worse with equal heartless cruelty, and that didn't compare to this pain.
Then it occurred to me. He wanted to prove that they were more than scum. Levi, wanted his friends, and himself, to gain respect. I understood, but he didn't need to be so rude.
"I've almost grown tired of your impertinent attitude, Levi. All I have been, is nice to you. I suggest you lose the attitude before I lose the courtesy." I hissed towards the leading male with the same level of venom.
"I'm sure he meant that in a way to keep you safe." Isabel said quietly, having to get close to me as Levi inspected the abnormal. "He was hard on me too when we first met, but he took care of me." She added.
I took her words into consideration, but there was no way Levi wanted to protect me. I was barely his friend in the first place.
"The way he swung his arms around, that's going to be a pain." Levi muttered his observation to us, then his head moved down. "But while that happens, it's legs shouldn't be moving!" He shouted with increased excitement. I nodded in agreement. It was a great deduction, but now we had to test if it'd work.
