"Hey there Sunshine!" A warm voice sang. I smiled and turned around to see none other than Sun.
"I missed you!" I squeezed his leg tightly, which made him giggle.
"You were only here yesterday!" He smiled, pulling me in for a hug.
"I know," I stated. "But still..."After a few minutes of catching up with Sun, I headed to the arts and crafts table. I knew exactly what I was going to do today!
"Sun is going to love this!" I whispered. With my drawing tools in hand, I began to draw.My hand was aching as I'd spent a full half an hour trying to draw the outlines. I knew it didn't matter, but I needed it to be perfect! I wasn't the best at drawing, I knew that. But nonetheless, I tried really hard to make it look nice.
"Whatcha up to there Y/N?" Sun had come over, to my horror.
"It's a surprise so you're not allowed to look yet!" I stated, manically finding anything I could to hide what I'd done so far.
"Oh I'm sorry Sunshine! I love surprises!" He smiled. "I'll come back later. Have fun!"The next few hours were full of messy hands and scribbling. I never knew how hard it was to write with glitter glue... but soon enough, I had finished the colouring in. I stepped back to admire my work - I had to admit, it looked way better than I had expected!
"Now all I need is the finishing touch!" I grinned. I wrote my name at the bottom, and with that, my masterpiece was complete. All I had to do now was find Sun!
That was a lot easier said than done. It seemed like whenever I needed him I couldn't find him! I asked some of the other children but no one said they were paying attention to where he went. I buried my face in my hands. How will I ever show Sun if he's disappeared?! I felt like crying; my hard work had gone to waste...
"Are you okay Sunshine?" I felt a warm presence sit next to me. I lifted my head out of my hands and....
"SUN!!!" I threw my arms around him to his surprise. "I thought you had disappeared..." I sniffled into his arms.
"It's okay, I'm here, I haven't disappeared. I'm right here Sunshine..." his soothing voice warmed my heart, and as we sat there in each other's arms, a wave of relief and joy rushed over me."I... I wanted to show you what I was doing earlier..." I spoke with a shaky voice, partly because I'd just been crying, but also because I didn't know if he'd like it. I slowly held up the drawing in my hands, and as I did so, Sun gasped.
"Did you draw this?" He asked shakily. He looked as though he was going to cry.
"Mhm..." I whispered, terrified at the thought of him hating it.
"I... I... thank you, Y/N... thank you so much..."
Sun gave me a tight hug and smiled wider than usual (which was an impressive feat). His smile was contagious, so I began to smile too.
"Moon says that he loves it too!" Sun grinned after a minute.
"Does he really?!" I asked, shocked that Moon actually liked it.
"Yep! He says he'll cherish it forever."
"Can you tell Moon that I really appreciate it, and that he is very nice for saying so?"
"Will do Sunshine!"
I smile, and hug Sun once again.|| Sorry this chapter is so short, but to make it up to you, here is the picture that Y/N drew for Sun and Moon! ||
