"Sunshine, I have a very important job for you today!" Sun cheered as I put my coat and bag away. I felt excitement rush through my mind. I loved when Sun had something for us to do!
"Awesome! What do you want me to do?"
He smiled and gestured for me to follow him. I did as I was asked and we ended up at the arts and crafts table. Surprisingly, he pulled a handful of old socks from his pocket, and placed them on the table. He then got out some glue and some multicoloured buttons.
"We're making sock puppets!" He giggled, and danced around the table in excitement, all his little bells jingling as he did so. I gave him a huge grin and nodded, confirming that I was going to help.

Getting started was easier said than done; Sun essentially refused to do anything, and I had been told to make at least 10 puppets. I stared blankly at the materials, the pressure of not disappointing Sun overbearing. He could tell I was struggling as he came over and gently rested his hand on my shoulder.
"Let's make one together, shall we?" He asked calmly, smiling kindly at me. I nodded, and slowly chose a green and blue stripy sock from the huge pile. I then grabbed two buttons at random to use as eyes. Sun sat next to me and put markings of where he was going to put the glue.
"It won't fall off," he had remarked while he was adding the markings. "This is a special kind of glue, which means it's stronger, and it's not likely that the buttons will come unstuck!"

He let me stick the buttons on, and once we had left it to dry, we began making more. After a couple of hours had passed, we had managed to make at least 30. I didn't know why we had even done this in the first place, let alone if we needed 30 sock puppets!
"I'm really impressed, we've done an amazing job, I think!" Sun stood back to admire our work. He grinned.
"Sun... why did we make all of these...?" I asked.
"Let me show you something..."

"Close your eyes! No peeking!" He giggled as I heard his footsteps go towards his room. A few moments later, I heard him again, this time struggling as though he was carrying something heavy.
"Are you alright there? It sounds like it's painful whatever you're carrying... do you want help?"
"I-I'm f-fine!" He gasped, a loud thunk echoing around us. I whimpered at the noise because loud noises never sounded nice.
"Can I open my eyes now?" I asked, getting impatient. I'd been waiting for what seemed like forever, and was just wanting to open my eyes - I had them closed so tight that it hurt.
"Alright Sunshine! You can look now!"

Sun had carried, all the way from his room, a wooden stage decorated with velvet red curtains and a painted background of the sky. I was very impressed with how well built it was, and I looked at it for quite a while before Sun looked at me expectantly.
"So, do you like it???" He asked, his excitement building up in his voice.
"I love it Sun! But how did you do it?"
"Well Sunshine," he began. "I stayed up all night last night making this, with a little help from Moon, and I was thinking we could perform a puppet show!!!"
I was overjoyed at the idea! Me and Sun with our own little puppet show? I knew everything would be perfect!

"Now all we need is advertising!" Sun beamed at me. I decided to get working right away on posters. I used tons of glitter glue and it took me a whole hour to make one single poster. Sun knew how to get it copied, though, so we wouldn't be here for hours just drawing them.
"All done!" I clapped my hands together and sighed, relieved to have gotten that over with.
"Now we just have to wait until tomorrow to perform! But let's have a run through, see how things go."

The first run through was a bit of a disaster. We had no idea what we were doing... but by our 5th attempt we had gotten the hang of it.
"I think we're ready for tomorrow, how about you?"
"Yep!" I replied, barely containing my excitement.

The day had arrived where we would be performing, and as usual, I slid down the green slide. I was less excited today as my nerves set in. Sun greeted me in his usual fashion but was a lot more energetic than usual.
"Are you ready Y/N?" He bounced up and down in excitement as he spoke.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" I giggled nervously, making my way over to the mini stage with Sun.

"Children of the daycare, welcome to the Sunny Show!" Sun exclaimed in a dramatic deep voice.
"That's not the name we agreed on-" I began, but got interrupted by Sun who was fully concentrated on what to say.
"Todays special guest is no other than Y/N!" That was my queue, and I hastily stuck my hand with the sock on onto the surface of the stage.
"Hello Mr. Sun! My name is Y/N!" I tried to disguise my voice so no one could recognise me, but they probably knew before the show had even starred that I was involved.

After a while of chasing Sun's sock puppet around, much to everyone else's amusement, the big clock on the wall read that it was nap time. Everyone groaned, as they all wanted to see more.
"We promise we'll be back soon everyone!" Sun grinned, putting on his funny accent. After everyone said goodbye to the puppets and no one was paying attention to the stage, me and Sun sneaked out from inside.
"That was very successful, don't you think?" He remarked, looking very satisfied.
"Mhm! I'm really glad you chose me to do this with you!" I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into a tight embrace.
After a minute, we let go and Sun sighed.
"It's nap time now Sunshine, and I wouldn't want you to miss out on your valuable sleep!"
I agreed with him and just before he turned off the lights, he waved at me, and I waved back. We smiled at each other, and I sighed, knowing that I'd made peoples day even the slightest bit better!
