Everything goes quiet. All you can see is a dark narrow hall around your vision. You look up clearly lost and lock eyes with Loki. You can feel Tony's hands on yours."Leave them you inconsiderate imbecile! I don't know what happened but I will find out. Someone is going to pay." Loki roars. "Come on darling." He offers you his arm and you take it letting him pull you away. "Don't even think about bothering us!"
Someone calls after Loki but get ignored. You don't care where you're going or why you're going there with Loki of all people. They've always been kind to you. Never to anyone else but you. Maybe because you treat them like anyone else. Not some monster.
"Loki?" You say as he sits you down on something soft.
"Y/n... are you okay?" He wipes a tear away from your face with his thumb.
"Yeah. I think so. Just a panic attack."
"Good. Now do you want to tell me what happened?" He looks so concerned. You nod.
"Thor and Tony were talking about when I was found." You take a breath and look up at Loki who's sitting in a chair in front of you. He takes your hand intertwining your fingers. "They were saying how all these shops were destroyed." You start crying. It takes a while before you can speak again. Loki just holds your hand shushing you and wiping away tears. "My friend they had a bakery and Tony was saying how when he was looking for survivors the only thing still standing was my friend's oven. He didn't know it was my friend's. But the area he described is exactly where it would be."
"I'm sorry." He squeezes your hand. "Is... your friend. Did they make it?"
"No. No one I know did." You breathe. "All this stupid magic..." You play with a tiny ball of energy with your free hand. "I couldn't save anyone."
"Darling." Loki pulls you into his lap. "Magic can only do so much. From what I hear your city was on fire. You did all you can. You did save some people. That much I do know."
"Thank you." You burry your face in the neck of the god holding you. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Where are we?" You giggle.
"We're in my room. I didn't know if it was appropriate to take you to yours. Now that I'm saying that this isn't any better." They gesture around and to the way you're sitting.
"Yeah. Um can I ask another question?" You play with the collar of his shirt. Loki nods. You take a deep breath. "Do you like me? Like I like you?"
The room is silent. Your heart is racing. You want to regulate the emotions of the two of you but can't concentrate. You can however feel Loki's panic then ease before he speaks.
"Are you asking me if ever since the day I met you and you said you liked my smile and didn't ignore me like everyone else... if that's all I ever think about?" Loki tilts your chin up. "If all I want is your attention?" Kisses are being placed slowly across your face. "If I can hardly control myself around you? Is that what you're asking?" He's staring at you with such passion. You kiss him hard and you swear he moans. After a few moments you pull away.
"I was actually thinking more of like golfing buddies." You laugh at your own joke.
"You're going to be a problem." Loki playfully slaps you.
"Wrong. I'm going to be your problem." You kiss him. "So thats why you're nice to me hmm?"
"Not just that. I appreciate you. I needed you the second I saw you. I knew I would do anything to be with you. Anything you asked."
"Can you be a bit nicer to Wanda and Peter then? They're my friends." You smile.
"No problem. And Wanda's brother?"
"You can decide on that one. We have a history."
"Oh. So he's a different kind of friend? I thought so." They raise an eyebrow. "What will he think about this?"
"He knows." You run your fingers through Loki's hair at the base of their neck. "I told him. He very much encouraged me to tell you."
"Good. I don't want to get on Wandas bad side by killing her brother for looking at you." Loki laughs. "She's scary."
"So..." you trail off as you run your hands down their hard chest. "Do you want to spend the rest of the day in here? Make everyone worry?"
"You are going to be a huge problem." He laughs. "But yes I would love that. Make yourself at home."
You spend the next hour going through all of Loki's things. With permission of course. He just watches you. This was the same thing he did the first time he was in your room. He wasn't there for long but he did look through your books and shelves.
He leaves you alone when he goes to your room to get your makeup wipes. You forgot you had makeup on and probably cried it off in spots. You don't want to look like a total mess.
You open a drawer and see a light cape it's quite beautiful but nothing like Loki would wear. As you close the drawer opening a second on with ribbons, combs, and brushes. You hear him come back with the whisper of his teleportation.
"Did you look in the one below that?" They ask.
"Yeah. Pretty cape. I didn't take it out. I don't know how to fold a cape." You giggle.
"It was my mother's." They say sounding sad.
"Oh. Oh I didn't touch it Loki. I should've asked to look in there."
"No it's quite alright. I'm fine with you looking though everything. I just wanted to be here when you saw it. It's important to me." He plays with his hands. "Much like you are. She would've liked you."
"Loki I know what it's like to lose someone, everything you love." You guide him to his bed making him lie down. "I grabbed everything I could before I was evacuated." You curl up into his side and strong arms wrap around you. "Even my parents wedding rings." You take off the necklace you wear showing it to Loki. Still laying beside him you take off your makeup dropping the wipe into the trash.
"They're beautiful." He examines the rather simple rings carefully.
"They only wore them on days they didn't work. They were both too scared something would happen. Lost. Stolen. Believe it or not these rings were expensive for them. It just so happens the day the city was attacked they were home."
"You removed the rings yourself?" Loki asks slightly horrified.
"Yeah. My parents always told me when I got married they were going to give these to me. I didn't want to disappoint them."
"I think it's nice to honor that."
Loki places the necklace back on you smiling as he does. The rest of the day is spent talking. They tell you stories about growing up with Thor. About Asgard. You tell them about growing up poor working your whole life while going to school. You talk about other things too. Eventually falling asleep in each other's arms.
When you wake up it's dark and Loki isn't there but you can hear him talking to someone. You look towards the door that's slightly open and see Thor.
"No one knew. I'll tell the others. Please tell them I'm sorry." Thor says clearly meaning it.
"Thor? It's fine. You're right you didn't know. Loki made me feel better." You call to him.
"Ew he didn't tell me about that!" Thor says disgusted.
"Not like that you oaf!" Loki punches Thor's chest. "We we're just talking and we fell asleep."
"Okay I'll let you talk and sleep." Thor says incorrectly using air quotes.
"Okay that's enough! Get out!" Loki says pushing Thor back closing the door and turning on the light. "Sorry. He was dropped as a baby. Now! Let's stay here a bit longer. We can get you something to eat after everyone goes to sleep."
"Thank you Loki."
"Not a problem darling." Loki kisses you sweetly. You melt right into him. This is perfect.
