Cool concept. A little choppy. I've been really into writing crushes and cheesy stuff. If it's sweet it doesn't have to be good.
"Wait Scott, baby, stop talking." You laugh at Scott's bewildered look at his randomly generated pet name. At least you didn't call him something weirder. You've been friends for awhile and the strange names you've come up with for each other are never ending.
You look to the table across from you where there's a certain someone drinking alone.
"Loki? Sweetheart is it at all possible you could stop fucking staring at my tits?" You giggle as Scott's jaw drops and he swings around and looks at Loki.
Yeah everything is kinda out there but this dress is pretty... and tight... and short. Perfect for a party.
Loki rolls his eyes and drops them to his drink. You smile as he gets up and sits at the bar facing away from you.
"Thank you Loki." You call and smile at Scott. "Anyway! What were you saying?"
"Not important! How are you so cool with a god drooling all over you?" He laughs. "I'm not into men and if he looked at me like that I would fold!"
"Baby we talked about this!" You whine. "Loki is..."
"Non gender conforming." Scott smiles like he got an A+ on a test. "Male presenting." He corrects himself further.
"Good job." You smile. "I'm so used to them doing something like that at this point. Still flattering but normal."
Scott laughs and tells you you should go for Loki. He's not the first to say that. Ever since Loki arrived a few months ago it seems like everyone has been trying to set you up. You lean in and quietly tell Scott like you tell everyone else. You like Loki and want something meaningful with him but don't think Loki is interested in anything but you, physically. That's not really what you want. Especially since you're retiring the whole superhero thing soon.
After another hour of socializing you sneak away to your room. As you enter you see Loki sitting on your bed. You step in and close the door behind you.
"You can't retire." They say quietly. He's got excellent hearing which is why he's a good fighter. Also why you whisper anytime you talk about him.
"You heard that." You exhale loudly and kick off your heels.
"Yes and I don't like it."
"Loki you've never been completely fond of me. I mean we talk casually. I'm pretty confident you don't hate me and that I can call you a friend but why would you care if I leave? I'm tired of this. I never wanted to be a hero." You tell him as you sit beside him.
"You really think I don't like being around you?"
"You like gawking at me." You tell him plainly. He whispers something you don't quite catch. "What?"
"I don't know how to talk to you. You're intimidating." Their voice sounds shaky.
"You're a god." You laugh.
"I'm aware." They sigh. "I want to spend my life with you. I just couldn't bring myself to say it. I don't know how you're so oblivious. I don't look at anyone else the way I look at you." He pauses as you stare at him eyes wide. You could only ever dream of this. The thought of Loki wanting you is something you thought could never be true. You're silent for too long. "I'm sorry. I'll leave you." He says sadly.
"Wait Loki!" You start. It's too late he's already gone. Fucking magic.
You change your clothes and ask F.R.I.D.A.Y where Loki went. He's in the library like always. You take the stairs up to the library.
It's dark but there's one light on in the back near the nature section. It looks about where the National Geographic magazines are.
As you walk up you notice Loki changed his clothes as well. He's wearing all black. Plain shirt, loose fitting pants, and his cute old slippers.
"You know this world is beautiful." Loki says as you approach. "I understand why you want to save it. Wanted to, at least."
"Are you trying to guilt me into staying ?" You ask as you hop up onto the table.
"No. You're free to do whatever you choose. I just wish I had more courage earlier." He looks like he's trying to make a decision. "Maybe you would have a reason to stay."
Loki grabs your legs and slides you in front of him. Then he lays his head on your lap. Long curls splayed across your thighs. It makes your heart race. Their skin is soft and cold. You feel their hands trailing around your back.
"What? Do you want to come with me?" You ask jokingly trying to distract yourself.
"Would you let me?" He asks. The side of his mouth moves against your skin.
"Um... that depends. Would you leave when you got bored of me?"
"I would never." He's staring up at you now. "We could stay together forever. I could keep you safe and loved."
"I won't last forever." You laugh at the image of Loki in his armor sitting beside a little old you.
"You could with me. I can keep you young."
"You're promising so much."
"I've never promised anything like this to anyone in all my years. I want you." They kiss your hand. "All you have to do is say yes."
"And I'll be what? Immortal?"
"No immortality doesn't exist. At least not that I know of. You can die like anyone else. I will however teach you how to heal yourself with magic, possibly cheating death. What I can give you is more like a prolonged lifespan with slowed aging. I just have to will it to you." Loki tells you this smiling up at you before pulling you into their lap.
"Will that make you weak?" You ask. Green glowing smoke surrounds you and dissipates. You're with Loki still. In their bed now. He lays down bringing you with him squeezing you tight.
"No it's spell like. I can just share it." He chuckles and pulls you closer and you cuddle into his chest.
"You want to share it with me?"
"If that's what you want."
"I want..." you inhale deeply. "I want a kiss. For now."
"For now." Loki repeats as they tilt your chin up and press a light kiss to your lips. They do that a few more times before you giggle.
It's quiet while you stare at him. He smiles and lays down. You sigh and close your eyes curling into his side. For now, you have a lot to think about.
