"What can I do to make it up to you?" Erin asked, desperation clear in her voice. Alex pinched the bridge of her nose, frustration getting the best of her, "Erin, there is nothing you can do right now. One apology is not gonna blow it all over this time." she bit out, Erin felt the tears sting her eyes as she nodded. "Alright then, goodbye agent Blake." The words came out strangled, but she managed to get them out before straightening her back and leaving the room to go back to her own office.

It was a week after that conversation and Alex regretted every single thing she said, from not accepting the apology to her attitude. She regretted it all, Erin was now dead and Alex felt horrible, she had put all her vacation time in and was now free of work for the coming two months. She hadn't done anything except for crying, sleeping and drinking for a whole month. The other month was spent reliving memories and looking at old pictured and reading letters. It wasn't until she saw one of the old pictures that Alex realized Erin might be in WitSec instead. The picture showed Erin With brown hair and Glasses, instead of the rich blonde hair, everyone was used to. She had seen a woman with similar features in Michigan last week when she was visiting her old friend from Georgetown. Alex chuckled as she swiped her thumb over the picture, already planning a trip to Harbor Springs in her head.

a few weeks later

Alex wrapped her coat tight around her as she was greeted by the cold of Harbor Springs, shivering slightly. She was searching for her taxi but it was nowhere, a low "fuck" came out of her mouth as she realized she had been scammed and had no transportation to her hotel. She kicked the closest curb in desperation and anger before she pulled out her phone to call michelle.

"Michelle Davids, what can i do for you?"

"Hey elle, it's Alex. Do you have your car anywhere close to the airport? I had a taxi booked but i got scammed."

Michelle laughed softly, making Alex furrow her brows.

"Of course darling, I'll send my driver to you."

The line went dead before Alex could argue with the other woman.

"Hi penny, can you run a name for me please darling?" asked Alex just after she remembered the code names they had for each other.

"Of course sweetcheeks!" came the agreement from the other line and not even a second later the tapping of a keyboard could be heard.

"Thanks Pen, the name I'm looking for is Katerina Parker" Alex said, a soft hum of confirmation was heard from the otherline and not even three minutes later she heard a ping coming from her laptop with the contact information. "Thanks pen, love you." Alex thanked the younger woman before putting the phone down. Now all she had to do was work up the courage to drive to the adress given.

It had cost her a week, a whole week to get her ass in that car. A week. She had been going crazy about the risks all week and was finally done with her own overthinking. She sped up to the house, it was only 15 minutes away from her hotel but she still sped 15 above the limit when she got the chance. "Alright Allie, you can do this." She encouraged herself when she parked the car, jumping out of the car with so much enthousiasm that she nearly fell face flat on the ground. She managed to get to the door without tripping and knocked on the door. Jumping from feet to feet in anxiety. A woman with brown hair and puffy and reddish eyes opened the door, stopping alex dead in her tracks. Every word she might have thought of had disappeared when she was met by the sight of Erin. Eyes that were once full of sparkles now lifeless and empty. The thick and flowing blonde hair now dull and brown and the spring in her step now completely gone. The Erin Strauss she once knew was now replaced by her polar opposite. Erin noted Alex her fidgeting and gave her a quick nod before preparing herself for the blow. But it never came, instead she was met by a soft embrace and Alex's sobbing. "I'm sorry, i shouldn't have turned you away. I love you. I'm sorry. I love you, I love you, I love you." was all that Erin could make out of the muffled words coming from Alex. Her own tears started falling at this and she brought her hand up to  stroke the brown hair falling down. "Oh Sweetie, It's alright. I love you too." Alex hugged Erin tighter at her words before pulling away. Before Alex had the chance to say anything Erin had planted her hands on Alex's face and kissed her. Her lips were salty of tears and tasted like coffee but it was perfect. It still ignited the spark in her as it did 20 years ago. The electricity sparking between them being almost unbearable, somehow they made it to the couch and came to their senses. Pulling away before hugging each other once more. The tears had stopped by now and had transformed into a big smile.

an hour later the women had talked things through and were now snuggled up on the couch reading and listening to the music that Alex  put on. Suddenly Erin's favourite song started playing and her eyes lit up from happiness, Alex caught the look and quickly shook her head. "Erin I'm not gonna dance." She firmly stated,  she saw Erin's face fall at the words and regretted her decision. "Please, only once." Erin asked again, this time softer. Alex sighed before getting up. "You gotta stand if you wanna dance don't ya?" she asked rethorically after she saw Erin's face falling again. The elder woman's eyes lit up as she jumped to her feet and quickly threw her arms around Alex's neck. Almost pushing them both over in the process. Alex chuckled, "Careful Darling, it's a slow dance. Not a line dance"
