𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 down the mountain absolutely exhausted after being stuck on the same damn mountain for seven days. She was about ready to lay on the futon in her room back at Tomioka's estate. Deadpanning she silently hoped that she would make it during day time so that she could actually get some sleep.

'If I run into a demon I might just lie down and die.'

"E-Excuse me." Peeking up she could hear a familiar meek voice. Glancing around she could see the girl she had bumped into at one point. She looked so nervous to even speak as it seemed.

'How sweet.'

"I...c-can I travel...w-with you?" Smiling she thought about how useful the extra help would be. Not only that but the company on the way back would be nice. As far as she can see the girl seemed to be so sweet.

"Sure." She simply said and watched the girl perk up and smile happily. Y/n could already guess why the girl wanted to travel with her. She was far older than the girl so she would look to travel with someone older.

As they walked it was quiet and she couldn't help but to look up at the pretty sky. The rising sun was quite beautiful, far more beautiful than what was back at her world.

'I should figure out what happened to this girl to make her want to become a Demon Slayer. There ain't no way in hell this sweet little girl would willing become a Demon Slayer.'

"So what made you want to become a Demon Slayer?" Y/n calmly asked glancing over to the girl that nervously walked next to her.

"....I....a demon killed my parents a-and my father left me a note telling me where to go....h-he also left me a sword..." She mumbled out while glancing at the ground having been saddened with remembering what happened.

"So you've been traveling alone....do you have any other family?" Y/n asked wanting to be fully sure of her next decision.

"No....just my parents...." Y/n glanced over to the teen before giving a small smile.

"What's your name?" Y/n asked and she could see the girl falter a bit.

"Kaika Kaiyō....." She mumbled out and Y/n gave a small nod.

"Ah well Kaika I'll take care of you from now on, well if you'd like." Y/n said while gently patting Kaika's head. Kaika blinked before glancing up at Y/n with wide eyes and for a moment she just stared. Soon enough tears welled in her eyes and she swiftly hugged Y/n.

'I've only had Kaika with me for a few minutes but I will murder anything that dare touches this god damn innocent bean.'

𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 but to wonder if Tomioka was going to scold her for bringing back a child with her. It wasn't something she could control, Kaika was like a lost cat and she just had to. Slowly she wondered through the estate looking for Tomioka with Kaika following behind her.

Stopping she slowly slid open the door she stopped at and could see Tomioka calmly sitting in the middle of the room. His head was hanging and his eyes were closed.

"U-Uh Tomioka-san I'm back." She hesitantly spoke trying to add the 'san' as to be respectful.

'Ah yes my time of watching anime and reading manga did me well.'

She watched Tomioka seemingly flinch before opening his eyes and glancing in her direction. His eyes were wide in what seem to have been shock. Slowly he stood up before walking over to her making her tense up.

"U-Uh Tomioka-sa-" She had been cut off by Tomioka suddenly pulling her into a hug. She was shocked by him suddenly pulling her into a hug. Slowly she hugged Tomioka back and as she did, she could feel Tomioka relax in her hold. Y/n couldn't help but to smile as it reminds her of when she holds Tomioka in her dreams.

"Tomioka-san are you alright?" Y/n asked and hadn't received a response from the other. Letting out a small sigh she slightly rubbed Tomioka's back. She knew why he greated her in such a way.

'I came back, he was probably worried...I didn't think he would.'

Soon enough Tomioka finally pulled away and seemed to have averted his gaze away from her. She watched him pause and glance at Kaika who stood confused.

"....Y/n who's that."

'And here's the scolding I was waiting for.'

"Uh well this is Kaika Kaiyō and I met her at final selection, she asked to travel with me and....well I just kinda took her with me." She nervously explained while giving Tomioka a nervous smile. Tomioka glanced back at her seeming to almost be glaring at her.

'Oh, my gawd. I'm gonna die now aren't I?'

"I couldn't say no, she didn't have anyone else!" She nervously and quickly stammered out while putting her hands up.

"Then she'll have to train to stay here." Tomioka simply responded while glancing over to Kaika who blinked innocently.

"Oki!" Kaika said with a kind smile making Y/n glance away from Kaika.

"Too bright." She managed to mumble out.
